Best plane for low level flights

Mephic

Recommended Posts

Hello in new year

I want to look at FTX Global from closer POV than NGX currently lets me - I am searching for a plane for low level flights.

Two planes which looks interesting are A2A Cessna and PMDG J41. I know this are totally different aircrafts but what I look for is nice graphics and full plane simulation with all the knobs and switches working. It can be a larger turboprop or a smaller plane - which one would You consider to be the best out of the two mentioned above? Or maybe there is something more interesting on the market? Also what do You think about Carenado planes?

If you want realism also system wise you will be disappointed about carenado. They sure look nice, but that's about it.... Low and slow? Aerosoft Katana DA20X it is - you even have to vacuum the floor or clean the windscreen from time to time. ;)

A2A 172 or if you want to go faster RealAir Lancair, or RealAir Duke B60

A2A172 will give the best view the B60 is not so good

One plane I've always loved for low and slow/sightseeing is the RealAir Scout.  It also has the advantage of being a tail-dragger.  That and the flight model, which is outstanding, would provide a nice change and a new challenge compared to what you're used to flying in the flight levels.  The graphics are top notch too.

Cheers.

Ok so after reading about those planes I will be choosing between flight 1 b200 and Cessna a2a. Need to read some reviews. Are service based failures featured in those planes like in NGX?

What about real air duke b60??

If low and slow is what you want, I would not recommend a low wing Beech turboprop. I would fly a Scout or a Cub with a high wing for an unobstructed view.

Real air Legacy has excellent visibility despite the low wing design. They are pretty stubby though. The Baytower RV7 is also excellent. Stubbier wings than the Legacy.

I want to fly domestic flights between cities in one country with sightseeing sometimes

You really don't want the cub then lol.

RealAir sounds your best bet to me.

Exactly - low not slow :) I want to fly domestic flights between cities in one country with sightseeing sometimes. Will read more about those aircrafts - thank You all for great suggestions

I agree with some of the comments about Carenado models, but that does not extend across the entire range of their offerings. For what you stated  I recommend the Cessna 208 Grand Caravan.  One of the best Carenado models, very good RXP integration possible, provides some speed when needed.  And great visibility.  Has pax, cargo, and fuel load capacity.  The 337 Skymaster would be my second choice based on your criteria.
