Convince me to buy PFPX. Post an auto-route from VHHH-OMDB

I've got PFPX it is a 5 star product.

Seems fair to put up a comparison with one of Ideal Flight 10's auto generated routes. Ideal flight doesn't just make a plan it's a full-fat flight generator. This route is made from the scenery data but can use an AIRAC cycle just the same, it's for a 777 and the FMC is ready to load the plan as the coroute:

Also don't forget that PFPX has eurocontrol validation built in which is a very useful feature and further increases it's greatness as a one-stop-shop of flight planning.

One thing that I don't really understand is to link the weight and fuel entered in PFPX with what is really in the aircrfat in FSX...

too much, too soon....

Pfpx is  a flight planning tool its not used  as a fuel or weight planner, topcat is used for this in conjunction with pfpx in which you can link  from pfpx if you got topcat installed

Im just curiouse how simbrief just scratches the surface?

It calculates step climbs

It calculates ETOPS

It calculates PMDG wind exported in the correct format

You can plan your own route of Plug in a real world route or simply select the flight plan that is loaded by default

Fuel burn calcs are very accurate

Issues current NOTAMS

Calculates Alternates.

uses Nav data

Exports to Vatsim

and its free

On top of that, they have several RW airline layouts for flightplans such as EK, BA, AFR and so on. The Fuel calculations for the 777 is spot on. Simbrief gets better day after day! And It's free!!! Btw I love how the name of the dispatcher is never the same every time you process a new flightplan.

I bought PFPX two weeks ago as I don't do long haul even if I do fly the 777 95% of the time. I was unsure about buying it.

The programme is stunning and I would not  fly the 777 without it now.

As for your Q, I go to flightaware first and look up a flight I am about to fly, it will show the route filed and 90% of the time it matchers what PFPX route gives. The difference's when different are very small.

Would I recommend PFPX, 100%

PFPX has a random option for payload. I use that because I like randomness. You can either enter the payload manually in FSX but if you buy TopCat it will do it for you.

Fuel is normally loaded in the CDU and it automatically 'fuels' the aircraft.

IF10 makes various interesting routes between any two places and uses the correct airways, but takes into account terrain if the aircraft performance cannot handle high altitudes, fuel and time calculations are based on measuring the performance of the aircraft in the sim as you fly it, and are more accurate, but PFPX comes with a db of over 50,000 real routes. Real routes can be found at Flight Aware as NyxxUK says.

On Flightaware only flights in America have proper flight plans and I think Australia too. That is why I want a good auto route. Thanks for the help everyone I will be purchasing it.

Good  you wont be disappointed, don't forget you can copy and paste the route from flight aware or any other flight planner  and  paste it in the route box of  the pfpx, you don't need  to use the generate auto route from pfpx

If you're interested in PFPX auto routing, check out this tutorial stickied in the PFPX forum, it shows how to use constraints to pass the CFMU validation. It's a really nice tutorial and shows off the depth of the PFPX auto routing functionality:

I bet pfpx won't run plans according to various aips, jepp electronic page's text and specifc China, mid east and Russian preferred routings that change monthly. You can't run optimised plans on airways in that neck of the woods

A common misconception with simmers the Eurocontrol validation tool doesn't cover China,Russia or the mid east, it will even validate on entry/exit points which are not allowed due to aips

There's not enough airways info in an AIRAC to cover them all, but the airways data does reflect routing changes throughout the year, whereas the simdata is much more complete, but old. To, fly a really real route requires a real plan.
