What FS9 Airport YOU really want developed?

Featured Replies

I would like to have some high quality military airports. For those that have military AI installed in their sim we are always looking for military airports.

I know John Stinstrom has made military airports (which I have a lot installed), but I am talking about scenery with all custom ground markings, apron textures, and other stuff like that.

I have that Rimini scenery (it is very nice!)

I'd have to go with KEWR and RJAA. Maybe RJBB as well.

An optimized KEWR really needs to get done.  Blueprint told me one was in the works from them.  Some may take issue with Blueprint but for the type of sceneries they do and the high framerate impact the NYC area is it may be a perfect marriage.  Imaginsim's version is a throwback to their Simflyer days and it is very poorly optimized for the New York area.  I for one hope we see a BP version.

Imaginesim has KEWR.

Imaginsim's version looks decent but it is a hog on performance.  It's almost unusable at Dusk/Dawn...  They refuse to do a newer version.

NYC area has always been a hog on performance even without addons.

Some add-ons make it far worse.  Case in point, Shez's KLGA is pretty good in that area (I would use Imaginsim's newer version but their AFCAD is seriously lacking), FSDT's KJFK doesn't have too much of a problem either but Imaginsim's KEWR is the worst airport in my whole sim to approach and land at even in the year 2014...

Well I have all the payware airports,  Aerosoft Manhattan, custom helipads and 400% Heli AI, 100% AI, stormy weather per FS Global Real Weather and iFly 737-800.  I get 33fps (locked at 33fps) thanks to Intel's 4770K cpu running stock.  No substitute for raw power eh? At last it is a REAL pleasure to venture forth into the Big Apple.

Seriously though the forthcoming addons from Drzewiecki Design promises to provide a solution to the performance issues with NYC.  Due for release this month for FSX (FS9 in the future.)

I don't see FS9 anywhere for this upcoming project.

Dillon please check DD's forums.

That DD project will be a HUGE release for FS9. I think it has the potential to completely transform the New York area in FS9. I'm anxiously awaiting this one!

Regards,

Joe Esposito

DD will get half of my year's FS budget for NY Airports (on their site FS9 version announced for "spring"), Tallinn and Warszawa.

And fingers crosses that Stanislaw decides to make a FS9 version of UUEE! (and if I understood the Russian avsim forum correct, MDesign doesn't exclude a FS9 version of their UUDD)

Maybe this will do until something better comes along....

Ya, thats the one Ive had for years now. Not bad, but the airport has had some changes since then.

Thanks

"Not bad". Gosh, I'll try not to get a swelled head.

KBOI is indeed out of date. Large airports change all the time. It's very time consuming to make an airport, even mediocre free ones like mine, and It would be impossible for me to keep going back and updating every one I've made. I also increasingly get the feeling that FS9 is a dead fish. The number of downloads I get when I post an airport is just a small fraction of what it was a few years ago. It's harder to stay motivated to share what I make. If I could afford a better computer I'd upgrade to Prepar3D or X-Plane, and leave the scenery designing chores to someone else.
