The button version

Featured Replies

I have a Danish computer, and my voicerecognition on my W7 Ultimate ain't even present.. And all the forum explanations have been to complicated for me..

I haven't been able to do anything that works for voice recognition.. So I stick to button until the tech is straight forward.

Does the Button version come.. I looked her in the forum but could not find any information..

Anyway Thanks for the wonderful products

+1 to the "no button, no sale". The 777 isn't the Dash 8.

I love button versions such as the excellent FS2Crew B737 and A320, simply because I don't like to talk in front of a computer :)

I love both,  when no one else is around I use the voice version but when people are home and watching TV etc I cant' use the voice version as it disturbs them so I don't get to fly the Q400 very often as it's just to much of a work load on my own.  I fully understand the reasons why there will never be a button version but it would make my day if it was ever possible.  The Q400 has fast become my favourite plane to fly in FSX but once you have used FS2crew with her you can't go back.

Hi, Contact me. I'm also Danish and it works fine here

Note to Brian; and all others outthere hoping for a button ver...someday.

My take on the button ver is from a different perspective.  The Dash 8 is not an easy airplane to fly.  With no autothrottle, airspeed has to be monitored constantly, along with all the other duties of flying the DASH.  Then dealing with the other peculiarities, such as the 'alt sel.  Be honest, it only takes a couple of seconds dealing with Nav or whatever, and the familiar stall horn goes off. Forget Alt Sel and you have blown your altitude.  Embarrassing if your in a climb.  Dangerous if in a descent and you start hearing TERRAIN, TERRAIN warnings start.

So which brings us to the button ver. I like the Voice ver, and grateful for FS2Crew and Brian for bringing it to us. And with practice, I am getting better at it. But... it's like texting while driving.  Getting the exact voice CMD to the exact time to time in the flight to start a procedure or accomplish an action takes attention away from flying the airplane.  With the button ver,; not nearly so much.

So Brian, when you say no time, understand that's where you are now.  But can we check back, in say six months or a year, two years???

Bryan,

I very much enjoy flying the Majestic Q400, but i am missing my virtual co-pilot.  I might relent and buy the voice version, if you do produce a button version eventually would you offer it for free to those with the voice version?

Hi Ian,

If a button version ever happened, it would not be free.  It would take a substantial time and resource commitment to do a button control version.

Thanks for your reply Bryan, i understand.

Hey Brian,

I'll buy the button version for the Q400 if you build it.

Good news on the button version for the B777.

I would also purchase it again just for the button version.  If my PC was in a separate room from the TV I would be able to use voice all day long, but as it's not I must remain silent or awaken the wrath :P
