Im using P3D v4.5 ANy ideas of what I could be doing wrong/? I'm sure my xml paths are correct. Thanks in advance for any help on this. Which AI do you use? Order should not have any influence.
May 27, 20197 yr Author The Beta is finally ready for testing… I will be distributing the link today to those who already volunteered to help. If others want to help checking it, please send me a PM - but please this is for checking in order to get an official release so I will expect feedback and also as it is a Beta it will contain mistakes despite my best efforts to avoid them...
May 27, 20197 yr I've done some checks around Nice, San Francisco, Bergen, Missississippi and Singapore. All looks good so far, although I need to go through the list and check how many of those I took pictures of are the new models. On all the ships I saw, wakes, models etc seemed fine. One thing, as I mentioned to Henrik, when I was off Nice, I seemed to have ships appearing in Little Navmap but not appearing in my sim. He suggested they may have been stationary ships not showing up, not sure if anyone can check that area. I'll do some more checks tomorrow. Edited May 27, 20197 yr by Ian S Ian S
May 28, 20197 yr Author Thanks for those fantastic shots 😄 I think the issue you see in Nice is related to idle ships popping. Try to go to Plymouth 6 am GMT and take a look in the docks - the same might happen. There should be 7 navy ships in the dock, but they might pop if there is a high load.

Plenty of activity but this time there is the reverse issue, lots of ships in the sim, but none on Little Navmap. I am thinking most of this shipping that is visible is provided by Orbx? I saw a similar issue up the coast off Portsmouth. The Solent (between the Isle of Wight and the mainland) was heavily populated but all appeared static and not in Little Navmap. As they all appeared static even when showing a wake - are these yours? Just off-shore and in the Channel there was plenty of activity and all seemed to be working perfectly. Apologies for the watermarks, can you recommend any hosting sites that don't have them? Ian S

Regards to picture storage I use www.casimages.com - it has a decent free quota. Regards to popping and little navmap… Three of the navy ships on your Plymouth picture are for sure ORBX static, one HMS Ocean however is mine waiting to leave, one destroyer could be mine also but four, maybe five have popped... I don't bother that much about the popping it is AI ships, so they are supposed to be seen moving and I try to minimize time stopped in port to avoid the problem, but what is odd is something showing in Little Navmap and something not showing - I think we should take that up in the Little Navmap thread to understand why.

As you say I am not sure how much of a big deal the popping is. The main thing is that the waterways are well populated and seem to working fine. I'll do some more over the weekend, is there any specific location/times/ships you want to me to look for? Ian S

June 2, 20197 yr A bit more testing off the coast off Gothenburg, in the Greek Islands and in the channel between Sardinia and the Italian mainland. All looking good from what I can see. I'd be interested to see that floating oil rigs Henrik, can you give me an indication where to look? Edited June 2, 20197 yr by Ian S Ian S
June 2, 20197 yr Author Super, thanks for the images - it does look like things are as intended :D The Blue Merlin with the oïl rig is leaving Port Angeles in the Strait of Juan de Fuca in the afternoon local time. Below a small addition which just got ready - the Volvo Ocean Race.
June 2, 20197 yr I am a little behind on where the project is these days. I think I read that there was going to be another significant update. Is this the case? If so will it be an all in one installer to capture all previous updates so everything is up to date? Finally, any idea of a release date? Mark CYYZ
