[08FEB15] P3D Pricing Policy - Some facts on this issue...

Featured Replies

The manuals and tutorials alone are worth $90 to me.  It's almost as if PMDG started off making manuals or something.

I see what you did there :P

  • Great! I love the comparison with battlefield (apples and oranges )  I'm just glad Orbx and others don't follow this same nonsense!

  • It's just a different platform -- P3D does some things that FSX can't. Feature-wise, the T7 exactly the same as the FSX version, AFAIK.        While it's nice that Orbx provides one license for a

  • Don't you see that you are comparing apples and oranges yourself? Orbx is scenery (mostly) and PMDG provides high fidelity aircraft. Vastly different business.

  • 2 weeks later...

It is what it is. I agree in that I see P3D becoming a very different platform as the months and years go by.

Looking forward to the NGX service pack, J41 SE update and the 747 v2. The DC6 will be awesome but I think that will be like someone leaving a hershey's kiss on your desk. One of those "oh nice, wasn't expecting that" moments.

Why quote the non-discount price of $135 and multiply it by 3? It sure seems like a lot more money when presented in that manner.

Well all i can say about that is i fly rc remotes and a air frame can cost about 800 us dollars and that is just the start then add 200 to 300 for a engine, then all the rest of the equipment and you at about 1500$. and that is a cheap one now i own 8 planes. i think this hobbie is a few dollars cheaper.

that is my take on buying pmdg air planes

Regards Ted Kiser

p.s. and i have crashed a few on the first flight lol

Jay:
I don't see what you're on about? The non-discounted price is set at 134$, the discounted price at 89$. When I add the 777 for P3D to my shopping cart, all I see is the 89$ :)

Name available upon request

I am a consumer who uses Prepar3D, because MSFX is an outdated, unfinished and unstable client.
As a consumer I prefer to use Prepar3D. But does this mean, I HAVE TO buy it before 7th of march?
Can I have a token for when I actually build a new system, I'd rather invest those extra eur in a physical components...

You're more than welcome to purchase the 777 after the 7th of march - it'll just be without the current discount... :)

Until 7th of march: $89.99

After 7th of march: $134.99

Best regards,

Not meaning to complain but that s just dirty marketing tactics Imo could ve handed discounts coupons instead of forcing people to buy it right at those moments. Just a heads up for your marketing department if you want an increase in sales rate.

Full names are required in the PMDG forums.

Also, discussion of pricing policy is against PMDGs forum rules, especially after the fiasco we recently had.

This is off-topic, what if when my parents barely met their families, and my parents are pretty much dead to me. My last name is still Pesterev but I don t want to be called pesterev by others let alone let them even see, it s a russian name and I tend to get discriminated for it allot + I associate myself being fully dutch and 0% russian. There s something I dont like about this rule, are there alternative in signing your full name? Can t I just encrypt it for only mods to see? Besdies my name SeaDragonST has been used 6+ years over the internet I I barely log on anything else.

If you want privacy with your name and require support then you can contact PMDG via their support ticket system. However, the rules for the forum are that all posts must be signed with your full, real name. There are no exceptions to this rule. It applies to everyone. If it is not something you wish to participate in, then unfortunately you cannot post on these forums. I don't make the rules, PMDG do and it is a rule that has been around for many years.

Plus, we're a friendly community. Nobody cares what people's nationality or surname is. We refer to each other by first name as it is more polite. The name system is primarily so PMDG can find the Pirates trying to gain support and boot them out along with other reasons.

Cheers,
Chris Brand

This being the PMDG Support forums, they set the rules and the rules state that everyone posting on the forums have to sign with their full name.

People remind you to post with your name, not because they want to know your name or origins, but so your posts aren't at risk of being deleted by moderators.

Now, I'm not a very active member around here, but I do read a lot and have never seen anything related to people being discriminated against, based on their name. We live in a globalized world and you find people just about anywhere, with a "foreign" family name so it really doesn't mean much.
