April 6, 201511 yr From what I have read they are not going to do Canada - to bad Yeah. I'd heard they might release with older data, but with a P3D installer; and then do some cities. Oh well...enjoy the scenery. Looks great. I may sound a bit nationalistic, but no Canada, no buy. Regards, Graham Derreck CYMM
April 8, 201511 yr You cant use FTX Global lights if you turn them on they will override UTX lights - of course you can use Global lights if you want but not both at the same time Do the UTX lights disappear at the same distance as FTX global ones or can they be seen from further off? April 8, 201511 yr Moderator Do the UTX lights disappear at the same distance as FTX global ones or can they be seen from further off? Good question as I was wondering the same. That's the one thing I don't like about the Global lights is how they only surround the aircraft by a certain distance due to being placed as autogen. Although it probably saves on resources it doesn't look good when your above 10,000 feet and the lights keep popping into view. I've considered getting UTX v2 if the lights draw further out, but I am happy with v1 and would only be purchasing for that reason. Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator
April 8, 201511 yr Great question about the same but I never payed attention - have to do a test get back to you tomorrow night on that I can give you some adjustments to make that AutoGen distances longer, but if it's AutoGen bound there will still be a limit. Night Environment series is the only product I've seen that will go WAY out past visual distance at altitude also ... I believe it supports FTX lights also so would think UTX v2 lights as well if they use the same method. Cheers, Rob.
April 8, 201511 yr Thank you yes saw that have to play some more - lots to play with for sure Half Moon Bay Magnificent shots, Rich! :im Not Worthy: In this particular picture, are you maybe using a ORBX weather theme? Looks very like it to me. Also, is this HDE v2 sky textures or REX? Colors a very realistic imo!! Brynjar Mauseth

NEX lighting is great, but deploying it on a large scale is both logistically tedious and expensive. Extending FTX Global (and/or UTX V2) night lighting distance might satisfy my itch. April 8, 201511 yr I'd like to see those adjustments Rob Adjustments will not make a huge difference, certainly not as good as NEX lighting when it comes to distance. Adjustments will also come with a VAS and FPS hit. I don't like to post them because for most people it will not be "enough" of a difference and then they'll complain later about FPS and OOMs. But just curious, P3D default night lighting will extend way out into the distance ... isn't the issue that if you use Orbx lights you loose the default night lighting ... and hence lose the distance? Here are pics of pure vanilla from my Test PC (not my main PC) - no Add-ons P3D around KSEA with a "true" max everything for graphics settings (at 26,000 ft): Warning large images (3840 x 2160): Cheers, Rob.

'I don't like to post them because for most people it will not be "enough"' - you big tease Rob! The distance limitations I was asking about was intended to be directed specifically at the 3D and vector light bulbs (glo-balls) - sorry that I didn't make that clear. General.fx line 246 worldMatrix[3].y -= ( 75 * saturate( ( distanceSq - 81000000 )/90250000 )) * ( cb_mObjectType == 11 ); change to worldMatrix[3].y -= ( 15 * saturate( ( distanceSq - 81000000 )/90250000 )) * ( cb_mObjectType == 11 ); Delete Shaders folder This ONLY applies to v2.5. Good luck, no support so use at your own risk. Cheers, Rob.
April 9, 201511 yr keep in mind the light configurator needs to be setup or you will not see much - dont forget to shut off global lights - probably dont have to but that would add more for your pc to keep up with - hmm might have to try it Dear Richard, Just installed UTX Europe 2.0 and Disable the Global Vector from Scenery.cfg, just confused after installing, The street light in uk Turn out to be blue and low bloom can i know which set of light best to apply and can i know how to apply it, Best Regards
April 9, 201511 yr Hi guys, Thanks for the valuable tips. Just a bit confused about the lights. I understand the following to get the most out of UTX if FTX Global and Vector are installed: - Disable Vector if flying in an area covered by UTX - Disable Global lights. How please? Is it enough to untick the "use vector lights" in FTX Central? Richard, would you mind sharing your UTX lights settings? I played around with some but didn't arrive at this marvelous white shine seen in your screen-shots. Cheers Hans Hans
