June 15, 201510 yr Like a lot of users, I had a massive fps drop - around 30%. Takes me under 20 fps so it had to be removed as unflyable. I am using older NVidia drivers, so suspect that is not the issue in my case. I am watching the betas - hopefully the next one or two will fix the problem. I suggest this...download to a fresh install of .36. Don't fly it. Now..click back on (check for beta's) and run the installer routine again. Fire up .40b1. Get to an airport. Close .40b1. Reboot your system. Fire up .40b1, and I'll bet you, you will now no less FPS generated, than .36..and that is even if you have Extended DSF as checked! I went from an initial 50 percent loss of FPS on my first install...to (with the above method in place) no worse than v.36, and in some cases even better FPS performance, post my-method installation of .40b1 My GTX680 2GB card is being driven by the older 337.88 drive suite. It is pumping out the FPS! Give it another go...and you will be surprised at the result....
June 15, 201510 yr I have to agree with Sesquashtoo's report: after reverting to old nvidia drivers (my GTX 770 does not like new ones apparently) and reinstalling new beta I had a drop from 34 to 25 (same heavy scenery and settings). I quit Xplane, run again it and FPS were again around 34 even with extended DSF active. It's just remains a mistery how new drivers are slower than old ones with my card. Riccardo Viecca
June 16, 201510 yr I'm umming and ahing about doing the same, but because of other games (GTAV, Elite Dangerous, IL2) I'm kind of reluctant to roll back drivers. Might sit XP out for a while until they get this fixed. i910900k, RTX 3090, 32GB DDR4 RAM, AW3423DW, Ruddy girt big mug of Yorkshire Tea
June 16, 201510 yr Man, I love this Extended DSF! Here I am, almost 25miles away from the downtown waterfront airport of CYTZ, coming in from the north...and way out there, is the Toronto Skyline upon Lake Ontario....beautiful...very realistic now.. Click twice upon the pic to bring it to its largest view. You can see the CN Tower, waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay out there...ready to take the salute to my approach!

June 16, 201510 yr Has anyone tried the UHD with the extended DSF ? Yessir...using it, and great FPS. I don't ever turn E-DSF off. No need...

June 16, 201510 yr Anyone getting microstutters? Am running 377.88 because it is smooth as silk with 10.36. No hit on frame rate though (but not using extended) as don't go above FL25 (will do once IXEG arrives though). cheers Peter Peter Allen Chillblast custom built: Intel Core i7-7700K 4.5Ghz, Nvidia GTX1080Ti, Corsair Hydro H100i v2, Asus Maximus Hero IX Z270, 32Gb DDR4 3000Mhz (4 X 8Gb), 250Gb Samsung 960 Evo SSD PCie, 2 x 1Tb Crucial SSD, 1 x 4Tb, Corsair 850W PSU. June 16, 201510 yr Moderator I've always had microstutters to some extent, especialy when panning around. I've always thought it was due to scenery complexity and 10.40 has improved it somewhat. I have no idea which driver Mac OS X uses though, but I know Windows users have varying results (It seems to be self-healing for some people)
June 16, 201510 yr My 10.40b2 is smooth as glass with the 347.88 nVidia drivers under Win 8.1 with extended DSF. Not sure what the Mac equivalent might be. I have resisted updating the drivers since 10.40b1 had such problems with crashes. Waiting for nVidia to fix the drivers to work properly with X-Plane. Until then, if it ain't broke I don't "fix" it. i7-4790K o/c @ 4.8 GHz, Corsair H-110 liquid cooler, 32 GB Corsair Vengeance RAM, MSI Maximus VII Hero mobo Samsung Pro 512 GB SSD Corsair GFX Hydro GTX-1080 8 GB, (2) 4TB hybrid HDs Win 10 (1607), X-Plane 10.51r2 and X-Plane 11.01b1

Not sure if I need to install a completely new version of .36 though. I am not going to do that as it takes ages (days?). Even reverting back to .36 then following the procedure above took a few hours. Will wait for a few more betas to come out.
