V3 Developer updated software thread

Recommended Posts

Great to know, thanks Christopher.  When these are released I'll remove my installations and go with his proper V3 installers.  Love Gary's airports; great quality for the price.

Keep checking the first post in this linked thread for updated information....

I don't know Rich, you're missing posts on your own thread - even your own    :Shame On You:   Read back a few pages . . .    Spad 0.5 works without any re-install and has done for earlier versions as well - at least for me/don't know about any other version    As for the latest OrbX v3 bits, well . . .    Must be gremlins - or leprechauns maybe   :P

Sorry, have to edit, for 0.5 read 0.5.1 - see Dougal's below - after all it's only been out just over 3 years - there's a time-warp as well . . .

Didn't see this one posted

Just to advise you that the new installer for FTX NA Pacific Northwest is ready from FSS.

Please note that this release has no new content, it is just the installer that has been recompiled to allow for P3Dv3 and dual FSX installations.

I don't want to get into it here, but we all ought to calm down about "to install...or not to install". That is personal choice for each user. In the absence of language prohibiting use, addons can be installed into any simulator. Whether that is advisable, is another issue altogether.

The best defense against pain and suffering, is a good disk imaging program. Do a backup...blow your system down the toilet...restore the backup.

So why don't we leave the philosophical debates, for the philosophers and take advantage of the excellent information in this thread?

And pray tell HOW is a user to make an informed decision without discussion ? The prohibitions are clear for all to see. The pro's and cons utterly invisible unless discovered and debated.

In any case this topic is about `V3 Developer Updated software`, which kind of implies that it IS supported, eh ?  :hi:

Perhaps you could contribute in a more appropriate discussion and stay out of this one unless you have some `developer updated software` to alert us to ?  :Hmmmph:

Thank you very much.

Meanwhile, on-topic: Flysimware updated their installer for the Mitsubishi Mu-2 to 1.8, now containing a direct V3 install option. Seems to work a treat in P3D v3.

The Bristol Britannia by Jens Kristensen flies again after crashing and burning in P3D v2.x. A History of Flight group should be ecstatic.

In case anyone else thinks of trying it, Flight 1 'Instant Scenery' does NOT work in P3Dv3. It also causes a CTD.

Guess you got it a bit wrong. I was referring to statements suggesting addons should not be installed prior to 'official' installers, etc. Item by item discussion is certainly necessary. But thanks anyway, for the well meaning post ;)
