November 1, 201510 yr Have you tried defragging with a good program? . I use Iobit defragger which has been great on my system. Michael Moe Michael Moe
November 1, 201510 yr Author I usually defrag with O&O but this doesn't help in the least. I'm going to do fresh reinstall of my OS, change cables, reseat GFX card, RAM and see what happens. x fingers
November 1, 201510 yr V-sync slows down the sim experience for me. Unless I'm running at my monitor refresh rate, I don't see why I would need v-sync if I'm capped at 30 FPS. Daniel Moser
November 2, 201510 yr Using Aivlasoft EFB? I use to have microstutters when using this om a remote computer via simconnect. Turning off the dataprovider om the FS machine, would cease the microstutters at once... Sø basically my experience was that simconnect can cause all kinds og hell... Martin Martin Jensen

November 2, 201510 yr Author ARGHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Reinstall OS etc and still stutters. btw, I don't have EFB
November 2, 201510 yr Dario - This is not P3d, I am sure it is something running in the background. W6kd and Vgbaron are correct, I know as I chased this anomaly for quite a while in v2.5 before I found my issue. This is exactly what I did to locate my stutter. 1. I loaded the NGX and just sat at the gate or runway and waited until I was sure the stutters were regular and annoying. 2. This next step takes time but is a must to do, just as w6kd said, CTRL-ALT-DELETE and run the task manager with CPU usage sorted high to low...then watch the task manager for a process that pops up near the top of the task manager list in sync with the stutters. Remember this takes time to do! 3. Once you identify the processes that are constantly starting up and then stopping on a regular basis you will need to go back and forth between P3 and Task manager shutting down the process and re-evaluating. My issue was a backup hard drive that was plugged into a USB hub... Good Luck Nick Nick Sciortino
November 3, 201510 yr I'll share my "stutter" story. About a week ago I started to get both stutters in P3d and a single BSOD when my system first booted up each day. After a lot of testing and receiving help obtained online, it turns out that it was caused by a malware detector IBM Trusteer that was installed when I logged into my online banking website. It couldn't be killed by the task manager and it was a bear to get it uninstalled. But once I figured out how to kill it, both the BSOD and the periodic P3d stutters disappeared. The moral of the story? Periodic stuttering is almost always caused by some other process running in the background.
November 4, 201510 yr Author nicksort- the taskmanager always shows P3D on top when sorted high to low...no other processes popped up....been at it for an hr There is something that's bugging me tho. P3D's website stated, "Solid State Drive (SSD) is strongly recommended"....i currently have a TOSHIBA 1TB mechinal HDD dedicated to both my OS & P3D tho I never had stuttering probs in FSX apart from the Mouse-Cursor frame Drop. I've spent wayy too much money on my PC and would really hate to know if I but a SSD its still stutters. Don't know what to do anymore.
November 4, 201510 yr nicksort- the taskmanager always shows P3D on top when sorted high to low...no other processes popped up....been at it for an hr 1. What you need to is pick the process tab 2. Click the memory (private Working set)label and sort High to Low 3. Look at the list of process that are running and watch to see if any of these numbers climb up and down. Those are the programs and items that are running in the background which can cause stutters. Be careful as some items cannot be stopped. Nick Sciortino

Try turning them off. Ryan
