January 6, 201610 yr I agree 100% with Garrett, totally crazy not to port over all the hard work you've already achieved... we all know it (and most other aircraft) will work with minimal effort, just see the recently closed EMT thread, cases like this are the only reason I can see it was shut down so fast. I love this hobby, but it's mighty weird at times. Very discouraging. Allen, flight sim lover and AA-5 Traveler owner
January 6, 201610 yr I would also love to have the PMDG MD11 for P3Dv3.1 I wouldn't be asking them to make any improvements on it at all, just do what they have to and get it to work as it is. I know that it wouldn't reflect the quality standards that they are making today, but that is just beside the point. PMDG put years of time and labor into creating the MD11, and as it is, it's way better than many aircraft sims being released today. I believe it is a proud reflection of the work that they were doing several years ago and would make a perfect "Legacy" product to fly in P3D. It's certainly is nothing to be ashamed of. I would pay for it again right now to go into P3Dv3.1 Robert Yunque PilotEdge Ratings = CAT-11 (2016-09-13) I-11 (2016-10-23) V-3 (2016-08-01)
January 6, 201610 yr I guess I don't understand why PMDG couldn't just port the MD11 over to P3D with as little effort as possible. Redirect the installer and registry items, maybe update some of the cockpit textures and there ya go. Maybe even give it sub-$50 or 60 price tag to lure skeptics. The hard work has already done... just a few hours of work and bam, new revenue stream. But they seem like smart folks so I'm sure I've missed something... The main reason given was that their older products (747-400 and MD-11) was generating a support problem because of compatibility with newer hardware and O/S's. Porting it over to P3D would have just exasperated the situation, at least in their view. Thanks Tom My Youtube Videos! http://www.youtube.com/user/tf51d
January 6, 201610 yr Perhaps there are some licensing issues with Boeing in regards to being allowed to sell the MD-11 in P3D? We all remember, that it took some time and talks with Boeing, in order for PMDG being able to distribute their current series (777 and 737) into P3D... I would assume, that it would be an issue here as well... If it really was so straight-on (as some of you express), I would assume they've done it already... Maybe I'm wrong - just speculating here... Best regards,--Anders Bermann-- ____________________Scandinavian VAPilot-ID: SAS2471
January 6, 201610 yr Maybe I'm wrong - just speculating here... No, that is definitely one of the issues. Thanks Tom My Youtube Videos! http://www.youtube.com/user/tf51d
January 6, 201610 yr PMDG says there are legal reasons why the 11 will not appear in P3D. But these are problems that could be solved with some efforts of the ones involved. I could imagine that there are contracts and responsibilities in the background that make it not so easy to provide the aircraft as freeware or to transfer the rights to a third party to license it for use in P3D, because PMDG has no own (commercial) interest in providing the aircraft in P3D. January 6, 201610 yr MD-11 work on 3.1, so EULA don't permit it... So... don'ttry this at home Fabian Fuchs
January 6, 201610 yr PMDG's 11 is the only reason why I keep MS FSX on my hard disk as the use in P3D is not permitted. Regards, Chris -- PC: Intel 13900K, Gigabyte Geforce RTX 4090, 64GB Fury Beast DDR5 RAM; Display: Varjo Aero VR

January 6, 201610 yr ...I just have to e-mail them my credit card number first B) GS would surely appreciate if you could kindly win the lottery first, you know Chris, the sort of lottery RSR and you were talking about in the other MD11 topic ... What happened to AVSIM
January 6, 201610 yr GS would surely appreciate if you could kindly win the lottery first, you know Chris, the sort of lottery RSR and you were talking about in the other MD11 topic ... Thanks for reminding me Ollie. Perhaps when I win the lottery GS won't need my credit card number, just a cut of my earnings B) Chris Sunseri
January 8, 201610 yr Commercial Member PMDG's 11 is the only reason why I keep MS FSX on my hard disk as the use in P3D is not permitted. I have considered getting the MD-11 in FSX, however, P3D is where I spend most of my time so it would be a no go for me unless there is a P3D-compliant product. I would even welcome something that is not quite as complex as PMDG, as long as it can fly the friendly P3D sky. REX AccuSeason Developer REX Simulations
