rudder pedals

Featured Replies

Good afternoon everyone.I am looking to buy some rudder pedals soon.I am currently using a mad catz 5 joystick and was wondering if there is any that I should avoid.I will probably buy a second hand set and then perhaps upgrade over time ☺

At the price rang you are likely to look at, the only I would advise against is the standard Saitek Pro Flight pedals, simply because of the lip at the heel makes it difficult to place your heels on the floor when you need fine grain control.  Otherwise, they are all much of a muchness until you start spending serious money.

I was about to start similar topic, but then - I  considered that I can join this topic.

For 2 days I'm owner of new Saitek yoke and have similar problem as 'dayshaddow' - have no pedals yet.

My problem is I cannot control plane on the ground as standard way front wheel is bonded with rudder.

I was thinking is there any way to change that bondage from rudder to spoilers ? - something similar as Q400 has.

I own the Saitek Cessna Pedals and have been pleased with them.

But I do sometimes wonder how they would come off with a head-to-head against the Saitek Combat Pedals which have metal adjustable pedals rather than the Cessna's plastic.

The CH pro pedals are indestructible, with pots that last forever. I'm into the second decade with mine now. Best piece of flight sim hardware I've bought, and I've bought a lot!

I've also have the ch pro pedals, I've had them since 2002. They have survived 7 house moves, 5 ###### off ex girlfriends and are cheaper to buy than the pmdg 777 and expansion, and you won't have to change your settings everytime you want to do a flight, like the pmdg. Best purchase I've ever made, unlike the 777

Another happy CH Pro pedals user here. Bought mine back in 2002 along with a nVidia Ti4600 graphics card. That shows you how much has changed but the pedals haven't. Still work fine.

Go in your realism settings and check Auto Rudder in the settings.

Basically I will sync the rudder with your Ailerons. On the ground just roll the yoke left and right and the aircraft will turn as if you were using the rudders.

Temporary solution until you get the pedals, just remember to un-tick Auto Rudder when you do get them.

Not cheap (about 230 UK pounds including tax) but probably the best pedals available unless you want to spend stupid money - http://mfg.simundza.com/products. So many customisable options; see the independent reviews.

Perfect as it was the  ch pro pedals i have seen and the price it right for me at the moment :) Hi

Beardyman my joystick has rudder built in and works by twisting it left and right. It is well worth the money but i want pedals to give me a bit more realism as i fly.As for using any mixing via the sim it is a HUGE nono,It might just get you by but when you upgrade you will find you are retraining your brain again(I fly rc helis..start right first trust me) set the sim to full realizm, use no mixing and remove all the null zones on all axis...if not you are only cheating yourself.Angelo Cosma please take no offence and im not dissing you or mean to sound rude

Don't have a problem with the standard Saitek pedals, used them for years .

If I didn't have pedals, then I'd use the auto rudder check box. I can't stand the twist stick method. Flew a bit of real helicopters, lot's of R/C choppers and planes, and flew as well as owned and stick controlled airplanes from the left or right seat. Just a matter of getting use to. In fact, the plane I owned, was left seat , but I always use the right seat (right hand for stick) method for flight simming.  Have Saitek pedals.

edit..............I'm using right seat or tandem controls, while flying left seat in most sim planes. Confusing I guess, but then all my controls are moused, or on the stick..............instead of the normal flow of hands on the dials & switches of real airplanes.
