Exciting news!  My first love and choice would be the NG, particularly since I'm curently building a FDS 737.  But I certainly wouldn't complain if it ended up being a triple 7.  Looking forward to this coming together!

Interesting news.

In Norway we have these guys near OSL (Gardemoen Airport) who have designed and built their own fix base NG sim available for the public.

Keven,

FDS are partnered with Sim-Avionics. From what Steve told me, they are pretty much on par. Pro-Sim also has many glitches and it all depends on what you're after.

I would imagine FDS will partner with PMDG once the avionics suite is released.

I am being VERY careful not to put words in the mouth of FDS, since I do not speak for them- but when Peter and I began to discuss this process back in late 2012, we had done quite a bit of research into what the market experience was currently like for users of FDS and other types of hardware.  The overwhelming impression that I had was that most users felt their setups were "twitchy" and prone to problems related to the software/hardware interaction.  It also seemed that the setup processes were designed by-engineers-for-engineers, which put them a bit beyond the ease-of-use that many users would have preferred.

When I mentioned our impressions to Peter and Steve, I in effect told them that I wanted PMDG to become the vendor of choice for their customers.  I think my goal was met with appropriate reservation- but a willingness to help.

We have yet to prove to FDS that we are worthy of their customer's attention- but the fact that we are willing to invest the time and money that has been required to adapt our software to do this speaks to our seriousness in the effort.

As of right now I am very pleased with how things are progressing- and I am looking forward to the day when I can tell FDS that we have something worthy of their attention.  That day is not too far off now- and I really cannot wait for you to see it.

Perhaps we will have to arrange for the Immersion team to come visit us for a bit of fun once we get the first sim up and running, eh?

I see a fun day in the making.

An Immersion Package in a full-size sim is something of great interest for us!

We would be happy to have a run in one of your sim on day!

To me the 737-800 NGX is THE plane. It's like the DC-3 of the jet age. I don't remenber how old I was, but the day I realise plane where flown by humans, it hit me like thunderbolt. I want to be a pilot. And I've had the chance to fulfill my desire to some degree. But never had the chance to make-it to airline level because of earing problems. Unfortunately. But, PMDG has offered me that opportunity. And, to me , 737 is my dream plane. Ego would push me to the 47, but the 37 offers me more TO and LDG in a day of flying. And it fills me with a lot of pride at flying the 37. And with the help of captain Mike Ray's books, I get to be, more and more capable of handling the bird like airlines pilot do. To me, the 37 is love at first sight. And while I'm at it, is PMDG will have the software adaptable and compatible to the FDS equipment as a onboard PFD/ND/ EFIS/ MCP etc...etc...

Been planning to buy the product like Jet-Max or full cockpit in a step-by-step mode depending on the $$$ availibility.
