December 24, 201510 yr Here's two screenshots after installation, with default EVERYTHING. Dynamic Reflections setting at the highest. Thanks for posting Jesse. I had ignored the setting due to water fascination syndrome.. For a bunch of fun, take any aircraft with substantial side/glass area and slow taxi past any hanger/buildings location and enjoy. Thanks to LM for a very a nice Christmas gift.
December 24, 201510 yr That's worth a couple of slaps Kevin. Cheers, Rob. EDIT: I feel kinda sorry for LM, they fixed a ton of stuff underneath and added a bunch of functionality to the SDK that for the most part has gone un-noticed ... hopefully 3PDs will re-acquaint themselves with P3D's v3.1 SDK and see the new potential.
December 24, 201510 yr Commercial Member It would be great to have a list of popular aircraft that use this feature. I found the stock Connie uses it very well and have posted some screenshots to show the cool reflections See this post for screenshots; http://www.avsim.com/topic/480523-aircraft-that-use-the-new-dynamic-reflections/ Also is there a way the user can convert an aircraft to have the correct enviro map or what ever is needed to activate the new reflections? Or does this have to be done by the devs? Paul Grubich 2017 - Professional texture artist painting virtual aircraft I love. It will be worth it, sold my existing 3x 28inch 1900x1200 monitors for £250, so the upgrade to 4K will cost me only £250, pretty good deal in my eyes I think LM could do a little more on the promotion front re changes in point releases. We used to get a heads up before release of what changes would be incorporated, and now that seems to have fallen by the wayside. I haven't had the opportunity to go through the SDK yet myself, what kind of added functionality are you referring to Rob please? December 25, 201510 yr Does anyone have any screenshots or videos on how this looks? Did some on the default Connie...
December 25, 201510 yr Had a quick scan through SDK last night, flash based gauges is interesting, shame LM didn't extend the addon structure to include support for multiple different autogen definition files from different 3PD's though :( Kevin Firth - AMD 9800X3D; Asus Prime X670E; 64Gb Cas30 6000 DDR5; RTX5090; AutoFPS
December 25, 201510 yr Had a quick scan through SDK last night, flash based gauges is interesting, shame LM didn't extend the addon structure to include support for multiple different autogen definition files from different 3PD's though Now that we all moved from flash to html5 they introduce flash based gauges!! Live is hard sometimes....Just kidding. Being abel to design vector based gauges is a big plus and much easier than through xml. Speaking from the visual standpoint only. Introduces a whole bunch of new tools one can put to good use. Adobes Illustrator as an example. Those reflections look nice but are a nogo for me because they are extremly hard on frames with my system. I will not give up the silky smooth expirience V3.1 gives me without it. But nice move and well done.
December 25, 201510 yr Nice, is that the CS L1011? Cheers, Rob. Yes it is! Strap the TSS L1011 RB211 sound pack and you've got a well performing, star aircraft simulation. As you can see from my video, the new reflections have a bit if a FPS hit, though not as significant as I thought it would be Jesse Casserly ✌🏼️ https://www.youtube.com/user/JesseCasserly757 💻 i7-10750H 2.6 GHz / 5.0 GHz, 16GB DDR4, 512GB SSD, 1TB HDD, RTX 2080 Super Saitek X-56 HOTAS
January 3, 201610 yr Also a YouTube of the AA problem dynamic reflections is causing on some systems. via LM forum: http://www.prepar3d.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6312&t=116501 gb. YSSY. January 3, 201610 yr Commercial Member I have also noticed that problem where the AA gets worse when reflections are activated. January 5, 201610 yr I've noticed AA is worse on my system regardless of Dynamic Reflections setting. I've inquired with LM also. Cheers, Rob.
January 5, 201610 yr AA seems to be the same with DR on or off. Off On... but looks a whole lot better!
January 5, 201610 yr I've seen some screenshots recently with P3d V3 that are approaching photorealism. This is one of them.
