January 7, 201610 yr Rob I hope LM fixes the AA problem with real reflections but not be a priority item though. I agree on the AA does appear to be less optimal than before ... but in my testing it doesn't seem to have anything to do with Dynamic Reflections setting (on or off) get the same AA - but this might require a shader delete between tests. I think more end user R&D/Data needs to be gathered as it doesn't seem to affect everyone ... could be some combination of issues, GPU, drivers or even the new CUDA 6.5 libraries (this is my guess) being used. LM are aware of the AA issue and the shimmering issue (perhaps related). Cheers, Rob.
January 7, 201610 yr Commercial Member I could try to make a video to show you but it might not show up in a Youtube video. I get nice straight lines as in runway or other objects with reflections off,,,but when I set them to on I get wavy or out of focus lines. January 7, 201610 yr Too late Paul ... I made one: I was mistaken, Dynamic Reflections are responsible for the lowering of AA quality. Here is a video I made zoomed in screenshots so as to make it easier to see the change in AA quality when moving from Dynamic Reflections = Low to Medium (or higher). Work around for now is to set DR = Off or Low. LM are aware ... fingers crossed they can come up with a solution. Cheers, Rob.
January 7, 201610 yr Commercial Member Great video Rob and it shows the problem perfectly. Thanks. Paul Grubich 2017 - Professional texture artist painting virtual aircraft I love. Be sure to check out my aged cockpits for the A2A B-377, B-17 and Connie at Flightsim.com and Avsim library
January 9, 201610 yr UPDATE: LM have duplicated the issue and were able to fix the issue, will be available in the next release. Before people ask, I don't know the ETA on next release. Cheers, Rob.

January 9, 201610 yr DR is a fps killer bah! Do people have any luck on the lowest setting? Is it even worth it? Ive only just gone to 3.1 but since I spent all my time in the VC I have it off. January 9, 201610 yr DR is a fps killer bah! Do people have any luck on the lowest setting? Is it even worth it? In some places, with some aircrafts is indeed a fps killer. For now, i keep it off. January 9, 201610 yr DR is a fps killer bah! Do people have any luck on the lowest setting? Is it even worth it? I have "luck" with the lowest and highest settings ... as GPU/CPU performance improves it will have less FPS impact ... as always it depends on you GPU/CPU being used ... if you think about what dynamic reflections do -- they essentially rendering the entire scene/world again on the reflective surface/material, that's a big ask for a GPU. But as I've demonstrated in various videos, it's very possible to get acceptable performance (30 FPS) in a complex scenery with DR = Ultra. Now DR = Ultra and SGSS AA in 4K ... that's acceptable too but does stress out my Titan X's (as in 90-99% utilization, both of them) ... lucky it's winter - don't need to turn the heater on Hopefully no one is suggesting LM should not improve reality ... heck most high end hardware at the time FSX came out could barely muster up 20 FPS even with just the limited graphics features of FSX (i.e. no tessellation, no HDR, no cloud shadows, no DR, no 3D waves, no volumetric fog, etc. etc.). P3D is going to push those limits, as it should, and just as in FSX, hardware will eventually catch up. The difference in the visuals isn´t noticiable if you don´t look for it. I'll disagree with that, the difference is huge even with existing content (airport reflections from vehicles, glass, other aircrapt, etc.) ... as 3rd party updates their products to use DR, we'll start to see it used more and more everywhere. But that's why DR came with adjustable settings because LM were aware of it's performance implications. Cheers, Rob.
January 9, 201610 yr I agree that DR makes a difference and I have set on med. WBS Mustang pics I posted looks much better with it on. I notice that it seems to reflect light in the shadows with anything that is reflective.
January 10, 201610 yr Pardon my ignorance but where is the DR setting? All I remember seeing is the "Reflections" setting in scenery. I haven't used the sim in about a week so I am going by memory. I'll have another look when I get home. \Robert Hamlich/
