January 22, 201610 yr If I won the lotto, I would have better wines in my cellar  If I won the lottery I would buy Warbirds a new Turbine Duke w/Gtn750s and Bert a case or two of the best wines I could find. I'm just such a nice guy. PS I would personally deliver the wine in my new Gulfstream. Heck, I may even buy Ryan his own Control Tower to supervise without FAA interference. Do they still have Non-Federal Control Towers? Regards, Ray When Pigs Fly . Ray Marshall .
January 23, 201610 yr Commercial Member I am truely touched - could you put that in writing please? Lol, I guess you already have. January 23, 201610 yr I am truely touched - could you put that in writing please? Lol, I guess you already have. Now that you mention it, I'm not sure those Monogram plastic models of the Turbine Duke have GTN750s in the panel. I guess when you get it, providing I win the lottery, you can read 'What is in the box' to see if it comes with the GTNs. Regards, Ray When Pigs Fly . Ray Marshall .
January 24, 201610 yr lottery planes: M600 Piper, only because those people are really cool. If you ever get the chance to see them at one of the air shows, or better yet, tour the plant in Fla, they will talk your ears off. Happy Company, Happy People, Good planes. Cessna 195, with the turbo Jake, Fuel Injection conversion, and modern avionics. Thats it.
February 11, 201610 yr Please forgive my ignorance on this, but is the GTN750 installed in the panel coupled with the FMS, or is the FMS still necessary, if for only setting fuel/ altitude performance? JOHN
February 11, 201610 yr Thanks Bert, another question: would the Flight Guidance Panel then be coupled with the GTN 750 for NAV control? JOHN
February 11, 201610 yr Yes, the GTN gauge steers the autopilot, in GPS mode. NAV, APR, LPV, the whole thing. In VLOC mode, the NAV radios provide the guidance, just like any other airplane. Bert
February 11, 201610 yr Like this? http://www.simforums.com/forums/topic54606_post343278.html#343278 Beautiful work, Bert - as usual! I may just buy the C90 after all!
February 16, 201610 yr Quick question, I own the old version of the FSX/P3D C90B King Air. I have not decided if I am going to upgrade to the GTX version. However, will the mod also work with the older version? Regards
February 16, 201610 yr Thanks for answering, I`ll try the suggested value. EDIT: Yeah, this is exactly how I like it. Besides, could you please be so kind and tell me what exactly does this value mean? I thought it would shift the GTN display verticaly (upwards in this case) and therefore cover the engine data in the upper part, but that`s not the case. Cheers! I am interested in this bird. Before the TDv2 I was logging 75% of my hours in the original Carenado C90. Could you or Bert post a screenshot showing how the taller mod version of the GTN (full reveal) looks in the panel? Also, has anyone looked at the exterior textures? The original C90 had simple non-layered exterior textures and also came with a blank texture. I read the GTX also comes with a blank exterior texture but wish to know ahead of purchase how the other exterior textures are defined? I do not possess Ron Attwood type skills. I like that with the original Carenado C90 I could easily recolor the stripes and copy and paste blank sections over tail numbers, which allowed me to place my own tail numbers. I see in RW specs that the GTX surrenders only about 12 to 15 kts TAS to the TDv2. That along with an ability customize the liveries ...... Ohhh! That plus a much better position for the autopilot.... A hole is burning in my wallet pocket. However, will the mod also work with the older version? Regards Negative, the mod replaces the bottom 4/5s of the MFD with the GTN750. The original C90B does not have a MFD. ...Also, has anyone looked at the exterior textures? The original C90 had simple non-layered exterior textures and also came with a blank texture. I like that with the original Carenado C90 I could easily recolor the stripes and copy and paste blank sections over tail numbers, which allowed me to place my own tail numbers.... The Carenado C90GTX uses .DDS images for the textures. There is a blank white version in .PSD for repainting but it is the typical chop job spreading parts of the textures across multiple sheets and locations. Lining things up is a royal PITA. Recoloring can be done, but you will loose significant depth of the texture. The best method is to find something already painted close to use as a template, create a layer lift the colors to. Recolor to your desire, then layer onto the white-base using multiply. This will keep the depth of the texture. You can then use this layer to go back and add the spec map. If the above is Greek to you, then you may just want to pass on repainting.
