My advice is to reboot the Universe, and then wait 13.7 billion years until we get to where we are now.

Now 13.7.3.2.3 billion years.

  • People have been complaining about FSX not being updated since 2006, now we have a plateform upgrading every 3 months and they complain further more. It's been a few years I did not check a flightsim

  • Every update (including FSX) we go through the same dance. Some like it, some don't LOT'S of questions that cannot really be answered.   As Rob suggested - TRY IT on your system - THAT'S the only s

This must be the single best advice I've seen so far

Hi Brian,

from the rex forum, they are aware of the issue and they're working on a fix. ;)

Is this also true for the stand alone Soft Clouds package?

There is some thinking @NASA where new data indicates that the UV is actually a lot older than you listed. This means that after your reboot then you will probably have a couple of Hot fixes and updates to load. Then if you are really anal then you may want to un-install the Universe and do a fresh install with the most current files.

So reinstalling FTX Global is not required if you only install Client and Content, right? But a backup and copy of the Autogen folder is still required like others have indicated, no?

Correct, I ran the content installer last night and compared ... I took screenshot of what changed, but for the most part Autogen and Textures and few default aircraft, a couple of fonts, and a few other items.  You'll need to re-run PrecipitFX again ... just open and hit Apply ... that will add it's FX back to default aircraft that were changed by content.

I didn't see any need to run the content installer to "fix" a reported issue with Virtuali update ... works with or without content update after running any one of the Virtuali installers.

There is a beta ASN for 3.2, but I haven't tried it yet.

I'll work on SODE testing next.

Cheers, Rob.

EDIT: Yes there is a hotfix for subscription based users: http://www.prepar3d.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6305&t=117553 - oddly I am subscription based but don't have this issue.  Again, just run uninstall the client, re-install the client.

I am pretty sure my 2yo has been trying to tell me something about these things through insisting on binge watching all "bears" episodes, repeatedly, endlessly ... you know, like out of the mouth of babes.  (sorry for digression)

I experience the same thing with geography.  I was the kind of kid that knew the names of all the States capitals at age 9 (this is Amehrika!)  But since those years when I was fascinated with globes, google earth (still fascinated) has been leading me into an altered universe from the one I swore I knew so well.

I tried it without SGSS.

It's definitely a ton better in regards to AA. I could probably play with 8x and no NI settings and be fine.

But I still can't live with the shimmering autogen you see without SGSS. So I went back to the normal 4x4 method for now.

Okay the only problem i'm having right now is that when i try to select and aircraft the sim will automatically load to the default flight . I have been having this problem from P3DV3.1 . The only way i have temporarily solved this was by restarting the computer. If i make any changes like for example install a new scenery i would get this problem.  Again this not caused by P3DV3.2 update . Any suggestion will be appreciated.

I ran the Scenery.msi and all I had to do was reinstall Orbx Global as per the post below; all other scenery like airport addons and FTX regions were untouched.  Have a look here Chuck:

Orbx Global will be installed into the Scenery\World\Texture folder.

Thanks. It was much easier than I originally thought. Just as you said, did the update and then reinstalled FTX Global. Done and good to go. Thanks again!

Are the dll and exe xml files not being used anymore?

I have Spad for the Saitek panels but now it will not load. I also have FSUIPC but it won't load either.

So I removed them both and they did not get recreated. I think the exe.xml must be user created but I don't remember.

Anyone using Spad or FSUIPC and can validate?

Yes all fine here.. SPAD and FUSIPC itself.

I guess I have a problem. Maybe reinstall FSUIPC and see what happens.

I thought the dll.xml file would be recreated it if did not exist, but I guess not.

Thanks

I think it doesn't... but it's created by the third party installers.

Maybe it was FSX that created. Maybe I am having a senior moment.

I am so happy that I like to do complete reinstalls every now and then. Saves me a lot of trouble, so it seems... Just spend a lovely evening reinstalling (from scratch) Windows 10, P3D v3.2.3, FTX Global, FTX Norway, FTX HD Trees, FTX Traffic, Airports of Norway, ASN, HDE v2, Plan-G, ProATC/X, Aerosoft Airbus 319, Navigraph, RealAir Legacy, Flight1 GTN 750, PrecipitFX... I think that was about it. And all that including downloading the latest versions and patches and updates and beta's, setting all possible options using system screens and config utilities and cfg files and ingame options, building and updating various databases, etc. etc. etc. Boy, I seriously love doing this! I am not kidding or sarcastic! I love doing this en ending up with a completely clean up to date system with nothing else on it but the things I want!

Didn't have a change to actually fly, I only tested if everything worked (which it did), but the very first impressions were good. Looked totally awesome and smooth too. Can't wait for my first flight tomorrow!
