March 9, 201610 yr Unfortunately no, Beta users don't actually get to test with content or scenery as it's not available during Beta cycle, only client and SDK is available. What I did in the past was install (post release) a clean full P3D V3.x onto my Test PC, then run a tool called UltraCompare and compare it with my fully loaded PC that had just the Client install. This process is TEDIOUS to say the least and I only did it once in the 3.1 beta days. So basically I can't provide you with an answer -- others have done content and scenery installs so maybe hit them up with your question. Thanks, Rob. Isn't there a program which can do a snapshot of all file names, file sizes and dates in a certain directory before and after an install and then automatically identify what the installation has changed? That would be extremely helpful here... [email protected] ∣ Asus ROG Strix B650E-E ∣ 64Gb@6000MT ∣ NVidia 5090 FE
March 9, 201610 yr Yes there is, just not had time to do that yet ... just super busy with regular work (the one that actually pays). Maybe tonight, but got a lot of other sim stuff on my plate also. Cheers, Rob.

That would be extremely helpful here... I was wondering the same thing and I just bought SimSettingManager about 15 minutes ago. It looks like it may be able to keep track of all the changed files and updated config and xml files as well.

March 9, 201610 yr At first glance, I mean instantly it looked to me as if LOD was increased that makes photoscenery clearer further out. Placebo? It looks that way to me also, I've requested LOD distance increase for just about every version of P3D since V2.0 ... I believe AG was increased by about 1 km but I didn't hear anything about LOD radius for terrain ... but it does seem to be further out ... I haven't done any in depth analysis yet so it could just be my imagination. Cheers, Rob.
March 9, 201610 yr Haha ... was that on the first run Robert? It could have just been re-indexing and building stuff in the background. But the MAP is definitely not what I would call "speedy" but it's essentially loading the entire globe ... it does need some optimization. Thanks Rob. Maybe so. The FSX map isn't too bad and although lots of us have Plan G or payware maps, it's nice to have an "in-house" map that goes beyond the unscalable FSX one, which loads pretty quickly with virtually the same database. Perhaps you could have a friendly word with the top brass! Best Wishes, Robert Robert Young - retired full time developer - see my Nexus Mod Page and my GitHub Mod page

March 9, 201610 yr Dumb question, but please share your opinion. I've upgraded the client and content to 3.2. In your opinion is the installation of the new scenery 3.2 worth the hassle of uninstalling and reinstalling scenery add-ons? I read the update log but am not sure what the update will bring in real terms. Thanks.

March 10, 201610 yr I'm a getting a "valid ASN version required" with the new open beta. I assure you my version is valid. Anyone else? In your opinion is the installation of the new scenery 3.2 worth the hassle of uninstalling and reinstalling scenery add-ons? I read the update log but am not sure what the update will bring in real terms. Thanks. Chuck, I'm not clear if updating to 3.2 scenery would require you to re-install your scenery add-ons. They say the content and scenery updates are "optional", but they never do say whether upgrading those will impact third-party add-ons! Personally, I want ALL of the updates, not just the client update! But, at the same time, I don't want to have to re-install all my third-party things. Does anyone have a definitive answer to this? Thanks. - William Ruppel, CYTZ, VATSIM 816871
March 10, 201610 yr So i`ve just done a complete install 3.1---->3.2 and i must say this really is the best update yet, not using NVC, not using NI, and its smooth, sharp, great FPS with ASN, Global, Vector, GTN, Fsuipc, all working great. Thanks LM and also Rob and everyone here for the reports.
