As I said, I'll let the viewers decide if the pictures are close to the real photo.

  • Hehe, we see this very regularly when an update to X-Plane comes out.   People are seeing all sorts of things (framerate better/worse, clouds nicer/horrible, autogen better/worse). The mind is easil

  • Sorry, but I am absolutely sure, you are NOT looking at default autogen here, but instead at some other add-on scenery (w2xp, osm2xp or hand made). The buildings are too specific (they are models of m

Somebody has had a bad day. I think sometimes we criticize sometimes when we are disappointed. Looking forward to something and then it's not what we expected. I did that a lot when I was younger. (-:

Sorry, I need to be gushing, you're right. If someone holds a different opinion they have a 'bad' day and are probably very young. That is the only valid explanation.

My apologies.

DAFSim not working in this latest beta(crashes XPX), anyone have luck making it work? I thought the plugin issues were resolved.

Murmur,

Those shots of X-Plane's rendition are spectacular. Why such negativity about a simulator capable of delivering such a convincing environment to simulate flight!

Yeah, another set of generic shots with no weather influence, taken hiiiiigh above, where you can still see the weird gap in the reflection, the ugly shorelines it tends to make, also how it seemingly blends colours into a weird monotone mush. X-Plane's rendering is so incredibly inconsistent and unappealing. Especially its lighting engine.

And obviously you removed all clouds, because we know what that does to an X-Plane screenshot.

Not sure what the comparison shot is for, they look absolutely nothing alike. Makes your own screenshots seem even more underwhelming.

Those screenshots look pretty dam good for default !If you hate Xplane that much then why bother ? There are other simulators you can play with !

Ok, maybe I got it wrong with you. Maybe you should just wait a little bit. Calm down, take a deep breath and maybe wait till tomorrow. Tomorrow is another day.

Bob

OK, maybe a different softer approach. Add constructive criticism like this:

"I think if the dev's had more time, they could put a little more detail into the coastlines. That IMO would really help the Norway scenery. Other that than that it's looking OK"

These photos I took while flying kind of look like a "monotone mush". Maybe he has been playing video games to long, and he thinks it should look cartoon in color ?

So, here's a screenshot taken close to the ground, with clouds, near Sogndal. Again, viewer be the judge:

All these shots look awesome!

X-plane's engine is capable of some amazing stuff!

What exactly are you trying to achieve here? I have the game, I've played the game. Same as most people in this thread. Are you expecting some sort of epiphany from me, that somehow your screenshots will make me throw my keyboard across the room and say "Yes, the weird urine filter, the 2D trees, the odd looking reflection and the horrendous looking cloud with no features or depth, that is my burning bush moment!" ? You are absolutely confirming what I've been saying; X-Plane, visually, looks incredibly flat and inconsistent. Horrible colours and poor weather depiction.

out of curiosity would you mind sharing a picture of FSX/ P3D of the same place. I would really love to see it.

Nothing, I'm just quoting your own words and following them with actual screenshots. So the reader can decide if someone is making legitimate criticism using a legitimate tone, or is just embarassing himself.

Excuse me? Do it yourself. I'm not advocating for P3D or FSX in here.

Then let's take this to a more unbiased place, unlike some obscure X-Plane thread where people pander to you because it's in their interest. Can sit here, in your safe space, pat each other on the back when a nasty stranger comes along and says bad things about your game.
