Installed Beata 4. Updated some airports ATC routes to watch teh traffic. Quiet good. The planes do slow down when they hit multiple nodes and when cornering. Found that if you set 90DEG connections between taxiways, some planes like the herc will overshoot onto the grass, than they can get lost, teh taxi arrows will foolow the curved path if that is what you set as will the AI. Makes the taxying more realisitc if more time consuming to do.Quiet funny watching planes trying to find there way back. No more You are off course, now you get bearings to course. Love the holding short and than getting permission to cross the runway, just wish ATC would stay with ground untill you get to teh final hold short, instead of handing you over to teh tower. but its not to bad.

  • Hehe, we see this very regularly when an update to X-Plane comes out.   People are seeing all sorts of things (framerate better/worse, clouds nicer/horrible, autogen better/worse). The mind is easil

  • Sorry, but I am absolutely sure, you are NOT looking at default autogen here, but instead at some other add-on scenery (w2xp, osm2xp or hand made). The buildings are too specific (they are models of m

I got that myself. However if I choose "restart" (or something to that effect, can't remember exactly right now) from the Flywithlua drop-down menu it works again.

Any B4 glaring bugs?

I'm seeing some hangar objects floating a little above the ground in custom scenery. Maybe related to that new per-airport flattening feature?

Which airports is that happening to? If anything, with the feature enabled, you shouldn't be getting floating buildings

Hmmm.... scratch that as a bug (maybe). It's a hangar in some custom scenery I've been working on, where one end is on the ground and the other is floating slightly above ground because the terrain is slightly sloped. I thought I had flattened the airport terrain there, but maybe I missed it and just never noticed it before.

I need to check into this some more.

Seems b4 is working fine for me thus far

Just keeps getting better

I must admit i did take the spawning aircraft off, somewhat to do with the slowness in a way, i got an addon, to be fair only quickly tried it

Will get back in b4 now and set planes back on and have a watch while the footies on

Thanks

Tony

how big is the update?

I've owned every version of flight simulator since Flight Simulator 3.0 in 1988.

Windows 11 Pro loaded on a 4TB Gen5 Crucial T700 SSD, 4TB Samsung 990 Pro SSD, Ryzen 9 7950x3d, AS Rock X670e Taichi Motherboard, Gigabyte Gaming RTX 4090 OC 24GB, 64GB (2x32GB) Viper Venom  DDR5-6000MT/s, MSI 32" MAG 321UPX QD-OLED 260hz 4K Gaming Monitor.

Well according to some statements RTH will probably have to be rewritten anyway. The rendering was changed significantly so the Art Controls, that you SHOULDN´T use have changed. But RTH is based on the use of these Art Controls.

Okay, maybe this is actually a bug in beta4. Here's my test scenery, first one with "Runways follow terrain contours" turned ON, with hangers floating on one end:

And here's with "Runways follow terrain contours" turned OFF, no other changes (note I had to restart X-Plane for that change to appear).

AFAIK, that setting should only flatten runways, not affect any surrounding objects.

Runway flattening OFF on airports that don't support contours nearly always resulted in floating objects. And it always affected the entire airport. Does your test scenery work correctly in 10.45 with runway contours ON?

Hi Paraffin,

too many misconceptions about how the scenery system works here for me to clear up in a few sentences.

Let it suffice to say that everything you see is completely normal, has been that way forever, and needs to be taken into account for by the scenery designer (airport boundary). WED 1.5 will help in making flattening "per airport", though.
