  • Hehe, we see this very regularly when an update to X-Plane comes out.   People are seeing all sorts of things (framerate better/worse, clouds nicer/horrible, autogen better/worse). The mind is easil

  • Sorry, but I am absolutely sure, you are NOT looking at default autogen here, but instead at some other add-on scenery (w2xp, osm2xp or hand made). The buildings are too specific (they are models of m

X-Plane has never done that to me. When it does, it may come to own me...

Try flying in Norway, even with default textures, the lighting in mountainous areas is just incredible. Add photo textures and realistic OSM or other data and you'll find yourself spending more time taking screenshots than actually flying

Seems worse than the stable version for me. I also have the purple halo back again

Having been to- and above Norway, I find X-Planes depiction of the area underwhelming at best, combined with its dated rendering technique. (With Mesh, textures and OSM, mind you).

I have both FSX with ORBX Norway and X-Plane with Norway Pro (I made this, so I might be biased) and UHD mesh, and IMO there is simply no comparison when flying through the Fjords. Add in good quality photoscenery and a Norwegian Shuttle skinned IXEG and it's about "as real as it gets"

Guess we'll agree to disagree. X-Planes terrain rendition in general is woeful. Add to that fact that it does seasons and environments very poorly, it's hard to properly represent Norway, in my opinion.

I am a bit surprised to see an improvement in performance. Quit big actually. Have no numbers to back it up, so it's totally unscientific.

Generally I am sceptical about claims of gains or losses (very common in this hobby as soon as a new version is released) however I am clearly feeling an increase in performance and smoothness.

Just curious if anyone else has found that wind/weather changes do not change the active runway?  I am wondering if it is just me or a bigger issues?  I have been updating some airports in WED and have been struggling with the correct active runways when testing.

I inadvertently pressed the green arrow below your post which changed the numeric box from 0 to 1. I'm sorry but I don't know the purpose of the numeric value. If it means something negative, please ignore. If it helps wining the lottery, then I hope you win

You mau have to give it time. even in 10.4 the runway takes time to change. It needs some hystersis or the in variable wind conditons thye would be changing constantly.

Yeah, that is what I thought, but I waited 15 minutes for all traffic to clear and still no luck.  I have sent an email to Ben, so I will see what he says.

Maybe a stupid question but why is there the notion in the upper right corner "Internet output disabled"? I am not aware that I saw this before.

"Society has become so fake that the truth actually bothers people".

Yeah, another set of generic shots with no weather influence, taken hiiiiigh above, where you can still see the weird gap in the reflection, the ugly shorelines it tends to make, also how it seemingly blends colours into a weird monotone mush. X-Plane's rendering is so incredibly inconsistent and unappealing. Especially its lighting engine.

And obviously you removed all clouds, because we know what that does to an X-Plane screenshot.

Not sure what the comparison shot is for, they look absolutely nothing alike. Makes your own screenshots seem even more underwhelming.
