My understanding of it is...........

If you are a genuine paying customer But have been banned from the Forums, You will still get Support Via Email "if required"

That's correct, John has said so himself.

I think that Birdguy got banned since stated he was moving back to FS9 and since they have no products for FS9, he felt that Bridguy probably didn't have any reason to be posting further or waned to give him a chance to cool off. Or in case he decided to try to keep his thread alive that he was moving and it became inflamitory against ORBX.

It's definitely something to consider but keep in mind that lashing out, arguing semantics, or being uncooperative to ORBX for whatever reason isn't going to get you anywhere.

This helter skelter banning is ridiculous,  One person posted here (or was it n the BushBusters forum) that he had a picture he posted removed because 'it didn't show Orbx scenery'.  Yet another person posted three pictures of his wedding which showed no Orbx scenery at all.  Indeed, I posted several examples of my bird photography on several consecutive weeks and they were not removed.

ORBX quite rightly in my opinion deletes photos showing competitors scenery. I haven't seen an aircraft deleted as that is a field into which they have a very limited involvement and from memory that was only due to the personal interest JV had in the early days.

They don't make weddings or birds nor for that matter FS setup rigs so they were left alone.

I do think that its a very strange atmosphere on those forums, almost a cultish attitude from some of the members.

Anyone being less than full of praise and you get quite a few coming on to post, "what are you talking about orbx is the best thing ever ever!!"

Moderators seem pretty hard line too, its an entertainment product, an expensive one at that, you would think they would be more accommodating.

oh well, I haven't yet had an issue there, but we always have Avsim!

And with that, this topic is locked.  I do not like topics like this where one can go and trash another website, be it Orbx or any other community website.  It comes very close to violating our Terms of Service.  One or two people get banned or suspended from another website and they figure they can get back at the website manager by trashing him on AVSIM.  Being a moderator, manager, or CEO of a website is not an easy task.  They honestly try to do their best but a few members get out of line and violate the website's terms or rules.  I know members can become frustrated with P3D, FSX, FSX-SE, and X-Plane and many of the great add-ons but going around the Internet and trying to trash the person who punished you for your comments/actions is not appropriate and I simply cannot allow it here at AVSIM.
