TrackIR

Hate to throw a shameless plug here, but WOW !!!!!. I've seen so many threads asking what's the best add-on for MSFS. This is it. If anyone wants to take that next step, this is it. I've been flightsimming since FS4 and I've got to say with all the add-ons and payware I've bought, this is the best. That's all, and now back to normal programming. LOLDan

Yea, I'm sure I will get that WoW factor too. I got my TrackIR 4 in the mail about two weeks ago but can you believe it, I have been too busy even to hook it up! That's it... no more buying FS stuff until I can actually use some of them! ;)

Intel i9-12900KF, Asus Prime Z690-A MB, 64GB DDR5 6000 RAM, (3) SK hynix M.2 SSD (2TB ea.), 16TB Seagate HDD, Gigabyte GeForce 5080 RTX, Corsair iCUE H70i AIO Liquid Cooler, UHD/Blu-ray Player/Burner (still have lots of CDs, DVDs!)  Windows 10, (hold off for now on Win11),  EVGA 1300W PSU
Netgear 1Gbps modem & router, (3) 27" 1440 wrap-around displays
Full array of Bravo, Saitek and GoFlight hardware for the cockpit. Varjo and HP VR headsets for mixed reality.

I know how that goes. I've got 4 new a/c that I have about 2 hrs in total. I'm working on an upgraded p/c now and that's going to be a small time killer away from flying aswell. O'well maybe after all this I'll have a chance to sit back, relax, and fly.:). BTW, you WILL get that WOW !!!! factor :)Dan

Yes, can't imagine flying without it... Average learning curve is a few hours of use... It really makes you feel like you are "there" for virtual flying... The 6DOF is fantastic... No such thing as gauges that are too small!Enjoy!

I gotta say WOW too, even backwards... WOW! I had even given that program that uses your webcam a try a few years ago and thought it wasn't that great. TrackIR4 is incredible and I can't imagine going back to flying without it.Zane

My wife asked me what I want for Christmas....After reading this and seeing the demo on their home page, I will ask for the Track IR.ps. Does it really take a few hours to learn?

Your wish is my command, Tom. :-)I purchased it after all of the glowing reviews and after visiting their site and looking at the demo. I was glad to be able to do my little bit for Avsim by using the above link. Now if I can only intercept it when it arrives. :-sae Ahhhh, the price of being married for 42 years. :D We now buy our own Christmas gifts, but my better half insists on wrapping mine and puting them under the Christmas Tree!Pete S.

He He, mine arrived recorded delivery this morning. Now all I've got to do is free up a USB 2 port. Does anyone know whether this device works happily through a hub?Mike

Yep works fine through a hub... I have mine hooked up to a USB v1 hub and it works just fine.Excellent addon, but i find it gives me a headache after prolonged use. I have not heard others mention it, so it must be me!!RgdsAidihttp://www.avsim.com/pages/0100/avsim_sig.jpg

Stan,it certainly doesn't take a few hours to learn, but rather to get used to. Since every movement of your head causes the view in VC mode to move also, that may cause some dizziness in the beginning. One also have to find the sweetspot regarding lighting, distance between the receiver and your head and furthermore the height. One can also make a lot of calibrations in the software but for me the standard MSFS profile works nicely. If you have the PMDG 747 you are in for a treat and if you also have the Realair Spitfire you won't leave your computer for the next two weeks! :)

Does anyone know what the Trackir4 compairs to the Trackir3? Is it worth the upgrade?

I'd like to order through AVSIM too....tell me, does the visor clip come with this model or is that an extra charge? I don't feel like getting adhesive dots to stick on my head or somewhere else. I do like that visor clip though. I also see that you get a free hat when ordering through AVSIM.

The clip is included with IR4, as well as a free cap (or visor) to clip it on!Pete S.
