I also don't get any improvement in fps. And they are still quite low, despite I have a brandnew rig (GTX1080, 32 GB RAM, i7-6700K). It seems, the Nvidia Linux drivers aren't that good (threaded optimization and stuff is not even possible to switch on (easily) in Linux).

XP10 planes are definitely better performing for me now. The XP11 Cessna is the same.

Especially I noticed glass cockpits are higher fps. That Bell 429 I just got had about 30 fps on the ramp now 40. That's a big gain.

I asked about weathervane and the PT-6 fuel flow implementation.

Beta 6 and 7 seemed quite stable with short flights so decided to do a cross the pond in the FF 767. KORD LOWW. Unfortunately it crashed near the end of my NAT route. GRRR  Cant see why ocean would cause a crash. The log doesnt tell me much at all.

Performance is pretty good though and everything else seems to working as it should.

However the sky banding! ugh so ugly.  Weird moon like im flying into the twilight zone intertwined with being teleported.

Try this against the banding:

set ("sim/private/controls/dome/kill_glares", 1.0)

I have no moon here and very small banding with this FlywithLua script line.

Especially I noticed glass cockpits are higher fps. That Bell 429 I just got had about 30 fps on the ramp now 40. That's a big gain.

Extensive testing with a few different aircraft (all third party), in a few different places showed some uneven results. I think there's still some weird effects that interplay within the vsync setting, the AA setting, surrounding objects, and cockpit window glass on third party aircraft from XP10.

I posted a screen earlier showing my dramatic increase in frames in one particular scenery, with one particular plane. Reproducible results on multiple starts. However, switching to a different scene, with a bunch of static AI in front of me, and the issue was back... ~50's fps with no glass, ~30's fps with glass. Switching viewpoint out of the cabin in the same spot, immediate 60 fps.  Noteworthy that the default C172 is simply 60 fps in the same scene all the time.

Interestingly enough, the same aircraft (again using the vFlyteAir Traveler due to the ability to toggle all glass on and off) in Beti-X's CYBD Bella Coola with the exact same settings, simply pulls a steady mid 50's fps regardless of the visibility of the cockpit glass.

Now, it's easy to dismiss this all, since generally I'm pulling quite a high framerate, except that dramatic variance means there's something strange going on - it's either certain specific textures or objects, that when viewed through a semi-transparent texture with reflections, cause a drop in fps for some reason. It's not all textures or objects, just certain ones. It's noteworthy that they seem to have partially addressed this with pb7/8, because it means that it *can* be addressed.

I think that this is why some people are reporting fps increases and some aren't - it's varies widely depending on the aircraft and scenery in use.

One noteworthy thing about the new beta is that I found much less load was being placed on the CPU by using VSync. In pb6 using VSync caused a noticeable increase, which is now gone.

10 bucks Ben won't fix the sky before XP11 goes final.

Ben already said it is NOT trivial.

I have ATIS at LAX reporting wing 280 at 16 and active runway 07L and 07R. It seemed worked fine in beta 6. Also there are no runway number tags on the map (when zoomed in)

Does anyone else noticed that?
