Translating 'What PMDG should do next into cars based on common forum responses' (sarcastic mode on) "PMDG shouldn't do a BMW i8...they are not 'common' nor are seen at most parking lots! PMDG should do Toyota Priuses and Minivans, because that is what I rode in to the shopping mall and to school, and I need one for my virtual Uber line."

Thankfuly PMDG only focuses on common planes right?? lol  whew....(sarcastic mode off) Some are common, but thankfully they throw in some rare high performance variants too.  I mean who wants to drive a stock V6 Ford Mustang all the time (stock 777) when you have a souped up BOSS Mustang (777LR) available. lol.

Well, knowing that Randazzo has ownership interest in a real DC-3, I find it odd that it never comes up on these lists.  Rob's personal history drove making the J4100 (a great simulation of a niche airplane that's neither popular nor particularly pretty)...seems almost a BFO that the venerable Gooney Bird would be in line.

Actually, they could do a Basler BT-67 - bit more usable than a stock DC-3 in terms of range, altitude, speed and capacity, and there is only the slightly ropey Dirk Stuck one for FS, so it's never been done to any great fidelity. most of the modeling would suit releasing a standard DC-3 too of course, but I reckon lots of people would like to see a good BT-67 done for a flight sim. Plenty of paint schemes and uses for one of them as far as simming goes, landing on unprepared strips, firefighting, passenger flights, cargo flights, research flights, military gunships etc. And of course, anyone who doesn't like the DC-3 needs a slap lol.

I wonder if one were an evil billionaire (though not necessarily evil, come to think of it) whether one could commission PMDG to make a sim, and how much it would cost. The thought has often amused me.

'Jeeves, have Robert, Kyle and the crew make me a 747-200 for P3D. Vite!'

I don't think there's a single person on this team who'd swap radials out for that modern, newfangled...stuff...  :P

Well if you were an (evil or otherwise) billionaire, I guess you could just have Jeeves pop out and buy you are real 747-200.

I personally think that Kyle IS an evil billionaire, teasing people on AVSIM with new products... :-)

Man, I am so hopeing that I get a dreamliner or a decent A350 soon... I love those planes.

I saw the first Lufthansa scheduled A350 flight some days ago - man, please give me that bird... someone?!

My hopes in PMDG for a A350 are lttle as it is an Airbus. But they are higher for the 787. I also see them every day in MUC. Air Canada, ANA, Qatar...

Mr evil billionaire, please go and make it happen :-)

I strongly suspect that FSL will do the A350. A wide-bodied long hauler would round out their range of products, and I should imagine that their efforts on their A320 will have paved the way considerably in that regard. The Dreamliner, being a Boeing, would appear to be more up PMDG's street and I can't imagine them not giving the Plastic Jet, at the very least, some serious consideration.

I'd love PMDG to do a 727 model. I know that won't happen.

think PMDG will look back at the 737 again - both to add some newer options (like the modified fuel cutoff switches, optional scimitar winglets etc) and model the MAXs with the new engine.

Stefan,

I only wish I were an evil billionaire.

I'd spend quite a lot of that money getting in contact with whoever decided this latest "bandit stripe" around the flight deck windows fad was a good idea and not-so-subtly convincing them that they thought wrong...awful...

You live near MUC? I was just there last month. Miss it already!

Personally, I don't see why PMDG would re-do the NGX. It's well over five years old, but I still consider it the absolute benchmark for flight simming products (sharing that distinction with the 777 and 744). Absolutely flawless product. It would be nice to see something like a 767 or 742- something the community is missing when it comes graphics and systems.

Thanks,

Kevin L

I agree with you, however, the poll votes would make me think that people might prefer that route. They will likely build what they think people want.  I know these guys have a lot of experience with the Boeing models, but I'm hoping for something different...very different. The JS-41 is still one of my favorites.
