May 9, 20179 yr Looking at your list in your sig - how about the NGX? Mark Robinson Part-time Ferroequinologist Author of FLIGHT: A near-future short story (ebook available on amazon) I made the baby cry - A2A Simulations L-049 Constellation Sky Simulations MD-11 V2.2 Pilot. The best "lite" MD-11 money can buy (well, it's not freeware!)
May 10, 20179 yr Go for the Q400! Pete Richards I've owned every version of flight simulator since Flight Simulator 3.0 in 1988. Windows 11 Pro loaded on a 4TB Gen5 Crucial T700 SSD, 4TB Samsung 990 Pro SSD, Ryzen 9 7950x3d, AS Rock X670e Taichi Motherboard, Gigabyte Gaming RTX 4090 OC 24GB, 64GB (2x32GB) Viper Venom DDR5-6000MT/s, MSI 32" MAG 321UPX QD-OLED 260hz 4K Gaming Monitor.
May 10, 20179 yr Definitely the NGX. I'm surprised being such a big PMDG fan you don't already have it. Best regards, Neal McCullough
May 10, 20179 yr You won't regret it one bit if you do decide to go with the NGX. Highly recommended! Glenn Wilkinson SpoilerMy specs: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X @ 3.7 GHz, 32 GB 3200MHz DDR4, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 12 GB, 2TB SAMSUNG EVO Plus SSD M2, 2TB WD Black Gaming SSD M2, 8TB WD Black Gaming HDD, 4TB WD Black Gaming Ext HDD, Windows 10, X-Plane 12 + large quantity of 3rd party addons scenery & aircraft. Honeycomb Alpha & Bravo, Thrustmaster TFRP. It's an older machine but gets the job done quite nicely - smooth with no stutters!
May 10, 20179 yr Keep an eye on the TFDI 717. They appear to be pretty close to delivering a major update which should address most of it's current shortcomings. If they succeed, it'll be a fine addition IMHO. May 10, 20179 yr Pity you can't reach the A320. It's a masterpiece. I never touched the NGX after that. That TFDi 717 after the 1.1 update recently released is also very flyable but still pretty much buggy ND-wise, it should be a great model once they're done with it, plus it reminds of the MD-11. May 10, 20179 yr Hi Nuno, Clarification "ND-wise" (I'm first and foremost a GA guy but interested in all things MD) ??? Thanks... Regards, Scott
May 10, 20179 yr I'd say FSLabs A320. It's the best FS airliner I'e ever flown. But your signature suggests you prefer boeing jets. So I will join the crowd recommending PMDG NGX. It is an excellent product (my main machine of choice before I got FSL A320). What also matters is there are a lot of addons for it, both software (FS2Crew, virtual CDU, sound replacements, etc) and hardware (up to full cockpits). MJS Q400 has also been mentioned above. This is a marvelous product for sure - I love it! But I am not sure a regional turboprop is what you mean by 'heavy metal'. Anyway - definitely worth having.
