[10JUN17] PMDG 777-200LRF Available for Prepar3D v3 and Prepar3D v4

Featured Replies

It may only be a compat update, but it looks better in v4. May be due to the increase in graphic settings but these refelections are much closer to the 747's level now. Love it. No problems with the installation or first tests. Works like a charm.

Very impressed by PMDG's ability to deliver upgrades so quickly. I didn't expect to fly v4 "full time" for at least one or two month. Now, only two weeks later v3 is a distant memory thanks to these updated planes.

I've struck a problem with installing the 777 to P3Dv4, I already have it installed in v3.4, when I ran the installer it asks if I want to repair or remove my P3Dv3.4 install, no provision for v4 installation. What have I done wrong?

You have to uninstall the 3.4 version first as per RSR's instructions

"If you have the Prepar3D v3 version of the 777 currently installed, uninstall it now.  (Yes, you must.)"

then you get a choice of platforms to install on.

Sorry for wasting your time, but thanks. In my excitement and anticipation I should have read the post thoroughly, before  installing, apologies again.

Is this info giving us a view on the 747-8 addon status? If you have "issues" to get the camera on the older 77W to work in v4 - you have the same on the -8 or maybe nothing newer from the -8 that you could use for the 77W? And: All those updates for v4 - are they disturbing the development of the -8?

Thanks anyway for your information concerning the 77W! :)

I don't know where you got the impression that the 747-8 has a Ground Maneouvering Camera System, it does not have one installed nor is it even offered as an option, especially the real aircraft. The issue only affects the 777-300ER.

Just a FYI, the website still says "This is compatible only with Lockheed Martin's Prepar3D. (v2.4-v3.x)."

Thank you guys!

Lufthansa's 747-8 has them, but it looks like this is a modification they have done themselves.

"GMCS – Ground Maneuvering Camera System

Lufthansa Technik developed a GMCS solution prior to the corresponding FAA recommendation. It is flying today on Lufthansa's 747-8 fleet to extend the pilot's vision with belly- and fin-mounted taxi-aiding cameras."

my problem was the user himself...

Hello,

just one question. Will there be in Future the Possibility to Install the 777 into v3 and v4 at the same Time ?

Or do i have to remove it every Time and reinstall if i want to use the other Sim.

I think it will last Month till all Addons be compatible with v4.

This sounds like you have not run the installer yet.  When you do, you will see that you can check both v3 and v4 and the product will be loaded into v3 and v4, and they will be separate installations. You will be free to use either platform.

I notice that the "Most Current Information on P3D v4 Availability" thread still lists the -300ER as being prepared for testing, I'm guessing from previous posts about the GMCS that this is not the case? Could it be updated with the most recent info?

Thanks

Mark

They are having issues with the taxi camera system in the -300 in P3DV4.

When it is released, I'm sure that Robert Randazzo will make an official announcement.
