I have an FX-55 and its no supercomputer when FS9 is maxed out with tons of AI traffic and detailed scenery. Hopefully FSX will be a lot easier on the frames even with everything maxed

4 only gate ramps are those>that are animated, where the #### are the others?Try turning your scenery onjects setting up to 100%. That will add the rest - and eat a few more frames....

I agree with Al and I agree with Mikes review giving it a C. Not the best but I am not taking it off my system. It is actually growing on me the more I use it.I run a 4000 and I OC to 2640 which is about equal to the FX-55, possibly a little quicker in terms of clockspeed. I don't think there is a single system out there today that at certain situations FS can't cripple...KEWR and the New York area with a good add-on heavy can cripple a system even without an add-on airport. That is why others gave up on the whole NY area. Thank goodness ImagineSim did not give up on us New Yorkers...No matter what CPU you have it will be at 100% with FS, it is just the nature of this sim... As for KEWR, I removed two BGL's referencing Fuel Depot's. It made a drastic improvement in my FPS. There are hundreds of objects in those .bgl's alone. Every BGL is clearly labeled and you can remove some if you want to try and improve your performance. The animated jetways are extremely smooth, I like how they did it. Textures are definitely not FlyTampa or Cloud9 but no one else will even touch KEWR so hats off to ImagineSim. It is so easy to sit here and criticize but rather than try and compare it to other scneries I try to compare it to the before/after. KEWR was completely neglected in FS with 3 terminals and a bunch of grey tarmac. All I know is it looks much better than it did when it was default... Just another way of thinking about it... For me, that $23 is worth it. Not to be harsh but for some of you, get off your high horse and do better if you think you can, otherwise no need to bash an individual making an effort. Yes, not every developer has the same skill-set but these people are out there trying to make our hobby better for us. Lets not forget that and lets not forget that without these add-on developers we would all be flying default aircraft in default scenery... They are just trying to help us better our hobby... Now when the heck are they going to have a fix for this stupid building crash? To me, THAT is unacceptable... -Paul

Ditto what Paul said in paragraph 1 and 2.

Great post Paul... :-beerchug Just like the A320 no one was stepping up to the plate concerning KEWR but ImaginSim. They get much credit for that alone... :-)

I like the fact I have a detailed version if KEWR finally... It's ridicules to expect every developer to create the say way or with the same perceived quality. It's allot of work researching and building an international airport. People are praising developers like Fly Tampa who I feel has a few things lacking. The original Tampa International by FT is now dated and KMIA has a big chunk of missing autogen along the west side of the airport (in fact there's quite a few areas around FT's KMIA where the autogen could have been allot closer to the airport grounds). I went to Fly Tampa's website to find a solution in the forums about the KMIA problem only to find others reporting the same issue. The consensus seems to be if most aren't having the issue then there's no issue.Speaking of Shez I have multiple problems with his scenery. First off John Wayne airport is really tough on frames and the landing AI aircraft

>Not to be harsh but for some of you, get off your high horse>and do better if you think you can, otherwise no need to bash>an individual making an effort. Yes, not every developer has>the same skill-set but these people are out there trying to>make our hobby better for us. Lets not forget that and letsGood counterpoint argument on the whole, but I disagree with this one statement. When you start charging money you enter the realm of a business, and as a business, I see no reason for anyone to hold back on criticism. I'd much prefer to hear firsthand accounts on the quality of a release _before_ spending my hard earned money than to discover problems afterward. The only people, IMO, "trying to make our hobby better for us" are the freeware developers. Once you cross the line and start demanding payment for your work, you are no longer a hobbyist.

"my hard earned money"$23.00... :-roll Most people spend more than that on a tank of gas heading to the golf course (we don't want to talk about the cost of golf itself). One flight in a C172 for lessons is going to run you over $120. You can't be in this hobby being that cheep, hardware alone is going to cost you over $1,000 with every PC upgrade."The only people, IMO, "trying to make our hobby better for us" are the freeware developers" Honestly how many people do you think are going to buy this add-on or any add-on for that matter (especially with people like you slamming it)? After Flight1 and Simmarket takes their cut Imagine sim might get only $20.00 out of this sale. If 200 people bought this add-on at that rate Imaginesim is only going to see $4,000 (and this is over a period of time). That's barley enough for one decent computer from Dell (XPS). Such little profit for the time put in is almost criminal. All developers have to put in hours of research which sometimes means traveling to the location to gather the latest data. Doing all this for little over a $4,000 profit has to be done by people who just have a love for the hobby. An addiction to women/gambling or most other hobbies can run you 10 times that amount...Guys the building crash problem is no longer an issue, ImagineSim just released the patch...

Paul:You know. Having a PERSONAL opinion does not constitute a person being on a "high horse", that argument is simply childish. And the further argument that one has to 'do to say' is simply non-sequitor. So if you went to the supermarket and found that the corn had worms in it, you cannot complain because you cannot grow corn yourself? If you bought a new suit and the sleeves fell off, you are not supposed to complain because you are not a clothing designer? So, you are saying that you would be satisfied as a consumer if you had a VALID criticism of a product and you were told to "be quiet or do it yourself?" Of course you wouldn't. That point just doesn't even begin to hold water.I don't want to design scenery, aircraft or panels (and I suspect that the majority of us here don't either) and that's why I pay money to those who do. HOWEVER, don't make the mistake that I should be greatful and sit quietly while paying for the "privilige". You want me to sit quietly, then give it to me for free. Otherwise, I am a vocal consumer and it is the vocal consumers that keep the bar raised. How can you compare Imaginesim's KEWR to the default scenery? Of course there is no comparison. That would be the same as comparing a nuclear physicist to the janitor at the nuclear power plant....sure they work in the same place...but they sure are not peers! Now judge the nuclear physicist among his peers or the janitor among his peers and then you get an accurate picture of how good he really is. Imaginesim is in business. They are not a "not for profit" organization. Nothing I said in my post is not true. AS I SAID, I think that if KEWR is your thing you should get it. However, other scenery design companies have set a bar to which I expect (and YOU should expect) all following to reach. If it doesn't reach the bar, then an honest critique is forthcoming.I leave you with this: Word of mouth is the killer as well as salvation of all businesses. It is NOT the consumer that should be greatful, it is the seller, for WE pay the bills, drive the product and are the reason there IS a 3rd party development business in the first place.**Disclaimer: another PERSONAL opinion. Mike, my post wasn't intended at you, like I said, i agreed with your review. I also agree with voicing an opinion. I do however believe there is a right and a wrong way to do it. Frankly some of the tone and demeanor of posters is outright disgusting. I have likes and dislikes with the scenery as well. I feel it has a lot of areas that are sub-par compared to other developers but I do not need to start attacking a company or an individual to express it. I don't agree with bashing and turning it into a personal attack on someones skills.I was posting more to the people who just come on and say that x is garbage and y is horrible. Someone spent a lot of time and effort on this and while voicing an opinion on the product and making an educated review and comparison is fine, attacking someones skills and making it personal is not. Yes, if I sat there over my contractors shoulder and told him that his worked sucked he would tell me to shove it and do it myself. If I was on-site at IBM doing what they paid me to do and then they started criticizing me and implying they new better than me I would politely step back and let them do it themselves and quite honestly I would ask them why I was there if they already knew it? This is no different. If these people can do so much better then why aren't they? To those people I stick to my original point; do it yourself if you can do better. No worries Mike, always a pleasure,-PaulPS, I also e-mailed IS on the building crash issue, had a response within an hour with a possible fix and great personal support. Unfortunately, this kind of attitude doesn't cut it in the business world. My clients would laugh me out the door if I were fubar a project and then tell them: well, I did put a lot of work into it. It's the results that count. The only way to evaluate an addon is in comparison to another one: I bought KDTW and others from this developer, and in comparison to other airport addons, released at a comparable price point, it just doesn't cut it. ricardo

>Honestly how many people do you think are going to buy this>add-on or any add-on for that matter (especially with people>like you slamming it)? I can tell you one thing - he could sell many, many more of those airports if he turned out a better work. You somehow assume that his income has little to do with quality of his work - nothing can be further from the truth. Ask FlyTampa or FlightScenery guys I don't think they suffer from poor sales. If he can't post better screenies on his own website to advertise his own work it sounds like the guy has "I don't care" attitude. Very sad but it is his choice.Michael J.http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/for...argo_hauler.gifhttp://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6-banner-beta.jpg

Just got Newark when it was released it is a very frame rate heavy Scenery just like the organel simflyers ewr due too the heavy scenery at nyc. I will say this if you love Newark internal airport and love Continental Airlines then its worth it and if your system is descent, but don't expect a lot from it.It is very heavy on fps maybe newer techniques can be used for fsx to lower the fps on the nyc area in the future, but for now this is what you get take or leave it. I wanna say thanks to Cal and the the rest of the team for releasing my hometown airport and one of the homes of Continental Airlines.

Hey Paul:My bad :-) I owe ya a beer. AND I totally agree! I absolutely don't condone complaining for complaining's sake. If a company gives a bonefied effort to release a product to the best of their ability, constructive criticism will only make them better. Overt bashing is senseless and worthless.Again, my apologies I must be getting old and cranky LOL

Also thinking about adding KEWR to my NY area sceneries which already include Aerosofts Manhattan and Chez's La Guardia but worried about fps. I have great frames (18-20 locked at 20) with the above sceneries. Anybody have Megascenery New York? I find the New York aerial photo (outside Manhattan) very low res compared to the Aerosofts scenery. Is Megascenery any better? Default JFK is good enough for me, but a KEWR scenery is needed. Chez's La Guardia is also good and does not affect performance on my rig. By the way, if you have a strong computer I strongly recomend the Aerosoft scenery. It is simply wonderful.
