December 20, 20178 yr Moderator Folks - if you want to talk about SkyForce fine - but if we are going to drift off into questioning one dev's actions with another, this thread will get shut down. Vic RIG#1 - I9 14900K MSI Pro z790 RTX 5070Ti 40" 4K Monitor 3840x2160

They could probably get it done in an afternoon but according to RSR, they already have enough on their plate as it is. Just out of curiosity...any reason for this? What if in the long run the user base make some pressure towards this? Best regards, Wanthuyr Filho Instagram: AeroTacto

Oh, I'm fairly sure we don't need to worry. If the product turns out to be good enough then it would be silly to ignore it for no good reason. The potential and actual interactions between certain Addons are all too evident, and should be encouraged to ensure our somewhat complex hobby continues to thrive. Such matters should be accepted as a given and transcend any petty squabbles or differences of opinion. Mike
December 21, 20178 yr I own ASP4/ASCA but will buy Skyforce if the visuals are better and it has the "dynamic" texture loading like ASP4... Bad weather in ASP4/ASCA doesn't look very threatening. Hmm.. the Youtube video about Skyforce is 1 year old! Am I missing something? Is this close to being released? Who says? Matthew S
December 21, 20178 yr Commercial Member I think there is a misunderstanding about Sky Force I want to claify. Sky Force is for most a complete overhaul of the cloud model structure. REX Texture was just textures, but Sky Force is more thatn that. We have added and expanded the texture structure so that you more realism and also less repeating clouds. Plus, we can truly cover realistic cloud structures. This part of Sky Force can be used with any 3rd party weather engine and aircraft. We have included a new weather engine to take advantage of our cloud models and our sync process. But it is not required to use. We have tested this with all products and it works well. The sync function has to do with the models. And because we have expanded the textures process there is no need for syncing textures on the fly to get a variety. We felt it isnt about textures but really the structure of the clouds themself. The textures are just a part of the core. This syncing feature is separate from the weather engine and also can be used with any 3rd party weather engine or aircraft. What I'm 'worried' about, is how well other weather addons will work with SkyForce? Do you get identical results and are 3rd party weather addons capable of taking advantage of the new features like cloud-models, overcast enhancements, and all the other impressive stuff you describe on your website? December 21, 20178 yr Commercial Member Let me also add what is different with Sky Force from Texture Direct. Texture Direct and every product prior just focused on replacing textures on what was default in the sim. This worked for awhile, but this was rather limiting we felt. So what we did is changed the core the cloud models themselves. That is why we could make storms to 70,000 feet and cover all clouds of the cloud classifications. This also allowed use to have control over textures now. So we expand from the original amount to double that. Hi so looking forward to this, question is thou, how is performance with AA in dense clouds? Has that been addressed? thanks mike

I will purchase SkyForce and of course test it, with both the weather engine which comes with it, and with AS2016 and see the difference ... Looking forward to release... is the estimate still before Christmas? Best regards,--Anders Bermann-- ____________________Scandinavian VAPilot-ID: SAS2471
