Also, items like the CVs are not being actively improved. Good product but with serious caveats. You speak the truth, but the carrier ops, air refueling, and drone hunting add a new level of challenge if you're getting bored with hauling rubber dog poop in and out of Hong Kong. December 30, 20178 yr I'd get the Sim Works Midway class CV-41 & 43 package to go along with the VRS bird & Tac Pack, and there's a up coming AI package from them, so that should be very interesting

Also, items like the CVs are not being actively improved. Good product but with serious caveats. That's exactly what I thought before I purchased this. I have every DCS module, but the VRS Superbug and TacPack in P3dv4 has something special that non of the DCS modules have? Exactly what I am not quite sure? Could be flying over my house is a factor? I spent today making a bombing range at Spadeadam, complete with a SAM nest, which are not to be underestimated (RAF types will know this restricted area base!). I then entered the GPS coordinates into the Mission Module and took off from Lakenheath. Practised a variety of guided munitions scenarios. A couple of hours later, landed back at Lakenheath and actually felt like I'd just flown the mission for real, instead of that "game" feeling that I get from DCS. Probably just me but as has been said, the sheer volume of study materials to fly the FA 18E combat systems is amazing! They all work! Some Nimitz class working carriers would be nice. The one that comes with TacPack permits landing but that's it! I see the Simworks Studios Midway Battle Group package has configurable aircraft settings, so may be used with any P3dv4 aircraft with a hook and undercarriage. These carriers have rollback after catching the wire and cat launches with the shoe, so I think that's my next purchase! Best regards.
December 30, 20178 yr I should also mention that I have had the full vrs f18 and tacpack for fsx for years and have also flown it online. I was also a beta tester for fsx@war. So I know of what I speak. Our best hope for a hardcore Hornet lies with the pending ED F18c.

Air to air combat is a rarity with modern warfare. At least TacPack provides vessels and ground installations that fire at your aircraft. That's something. And then there's multiplayer.

If you look at this http://www.glowingheat.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=160 link it says: Quote "Basically the Advanced Feature files -- RFN_CarrierGauge.dll and DSD_Sound_Gauge.gau -- are 32-bit files and fail to load in a 64-bit application. The result it that none of the Advanced features work." It is a superb simulation if you want to learn the complex systems of the Hornet (I have flown the Hornet in real life). I am waiting for the DCS World F-18 to become available. It looks like they are doing it correctly so far, so shaping up to be a great module. December 31, 20178 yr I purchased P3D v4 Professional as on a strict reading of the EULA I could prove if ever required the “intent” of Professional. However it seems that VRS Superbug is only compatible with “Academic”. So for those in the know, does this mean if you have a Professional license you can’t use this? My reading is I can’t unless I contact “Sales” and pay some type of extraordinary price? This is the first time I have come across this type of policy? Regards, Mark
