A cautionary AI tale......

Bought My Traffic 6 when I got back into simming with P3D. Set it up, and haven't touched it since. Works great.

I bought Myt 6 too as I do with all of the AI programs just to get a proper opinion on them compared to freeware. After wandering around from airport to airport I couldn't disable and remove MyT fast enough. The only thing great about it that it's easy to install and set up, but the city pairings and schedules are ridiculously bad not to mention the awful models and liveries. If MyT6 was available when FS2002 was the current sim it would have just passed as mediocre for the models and paints. I know I sound like a broken record on this but it's only so that others don't get misled by thinking that it's so great.

It takes a bit of time and effort, but to me self-installed freeware AI traffic is leaps and bounds beyond any of the payware options out there.

I’ve built up a massive collection of AI flightplans/aircraft over the years and I’m at a point where I just need to periodically update Airlines, delete those that have gone under, and add new ones.  I’ll usually take a good rainy weekend day and do a bunch at once.  I try to keep major airlines updated every few years, or more often when there’s a major aircraft change (ie 747 retirements, 737MAX EIS etc).

If you try to keep every single airline updated to the current year you’ll drive yourself crazy (and have no time for flying!)

I currently have 260 models installed that are used as AI planes, and 320 flightplans (including MAIW military)

Above is a link showing a quick insight to what my AI traffic looks like at different airports in Germany, Norway, Russia, the UK, the USA and China.
I forgot to turn off FSUIPC traffic limiter which I use to get reasonable performance. If I hadn't forgotten, there would me more traffic visible in the shots.

As for repaints, I don't care for different regs (e.g. I won't install 20 Lufthansa A302's just to see different regs). But if liveries visibly differ, I will take care.
For instance I have 161 (!) 738's, 9 7378Max's and 28 787's of Norwegian Air Shuttle, since their liveries (portraits) are so distinctive. I also have 70 airbuses in Frontier animal liveries (love them!).
I will also linstall special liveries, especially popular in Asia with Chinese and Japanese carriers.

Also if an airline goes bankrupt and stops flying, so it does in my sim.

You are correct. Major commercial airlines are constantly tweaking their schedules. The airline I worked for changed their schedules as often as two to three times per month when I retired in 2016. I'm happy if I get the correct airlines in the airport I happen to be in.

I enjoy flying and seeing some occasional AI at the airports I spend very little time at airports  so don't spend much time at all eyeballing AI aircraft and counting rivets. . To spend hours micro managing AI aircraft and schedules is something that  has zero appeal to me. Kind of like  sorting a box of paper clips by atomic weight, but that's just me.

The moral of your initial post ..... never delete a model/livery from simobjects, you never know where you could have used them !!

& a note to all, have you updated your [Exits] to use multiple jetways now possible with SODE....Widebody Exits.

& yes I'm a fan...at least one update a week of my 100 (US west coast) airlines.

for now, cheers

And that provides e.g. traffic in more “exotic” places like Cote d’Ivoire, Bhutan, and Belarus (all places I’ve flown recently in P3D)? My understanding was that it was based on transponder data, which even created gaps e.g. in ground traffic at airports without ASDEX. But maybe that’s a misunderstanding. If so, maybe worth a look!
