Stick with Aerosoft, and then spend the rest of your saved $100 and go have a fun night out. 

The differences in fidelity/depth between the simulations are not confined to abnormals and esoteric minutia...the proper function of the airbus FBW system in its various modes is a critical piece, as are the usual things like flight dynamics (the Aerosoft bird is reputed to climb like a Saturn V rocket).

I thought the FSL 'bus to be at par with the best add-ons in the game, and worth the price.  On a per-hour basis it's a lot less expensive than golf, shooting, or real-world flying.

And in day to day flying, everything works perfect all the time I suppose? If so, why do you need pilots I wonder. That said, the aerosoft busses are great fun, but I prefer the immersion (included the chance that something can go wrong) of the fslabs.

Actually no, it's not worth $140, it's worth more like $250.  The attention to systems - and specifically failures and how to respond to them steps up the reality … when things go wrong, you really need to know the "Laws" which in itself brings in a new dimension and challenge to operating the aircraft.

If you get a chance to follow "Mentour pilot" on YouTube (I believe he's a 737 captain based out of Girona Spain) he had some very interesting comments about A320 pilot flying as a passenger WOULD BE able to take control of a 737 in case of emergency (i.e. pilot/co-pilot out) but a 737 pilot WOULD NOT be able to take control of an A320 in emergency.  To fly the A320 you NEED to know the systems as the aircraft has more automation.

The attention to details is there and the sounds are just incredible.  I would highly recommend this aircraft.

Well - as far as the A vs B goes - I only know two RW airline pilots - both have flown brand A and B - both prefer to fly brand B over A - as "flying A doesn't feel like flying"... Granted - it's purely anecdotal - and I don't fly either in the sim...

One thing missing from contributors who own the FSL product is their feedback on frame rates. There's no doubt FSL is the more accurate in terms of just about everything, but it would be helpful in a decision to know if that comes at the cost of sim performance for the OP.

Sorry, but there's also, because if you're a professional, a real Airbus pilot for instance, you'll probably willing to give away some graphics / scenery sugar for even more detailled systems and functionality...

For instance, I still use ELITE IFT ( now version XTS ) for IFR...

I got the aerosoft Airbus bundle. I do fly a lot of pmdg aircraft, but in general I don't need the added complexity of failures etc. Before I invest in FSL i wanted to get a feel of the aircraft first.

I'm also in a couple of VAs and mostly i just want to get my flights in. The fewer failures the better 😁

It'll depend on your use case.

If you're looking for a reference point from higher FPS to lower FPS:

HIGHER FPS --------------> LOWER FPS

MJC Q400 --> AS A320 --> QW 787 / FSL A320 / PMDG 737 --> PMDG 777 --> PMDG 747

I usually do not look at frame rates whie flying (I have managed to unlearn it). As long as I have the feeling the performance is fluid/OK, I am good to fly.
Having stated the above, I do not see any performance problems with FSL A320. Yes, sometimes it gets a bit low (huge airports with a lot of traffic and heavy weather), but no more than other high fidelity addon aircraft.

I’m not even an Airbus fan but in my opinion it’s one of the most immersive add-on aircraft available. The systems and sounds are very well done, plus it has one the best integrations with GSX I’ve seen so far.  It is also consistently being updated to both fix issues as well as add new features.

Whether it’s worth though really depends on what type of simmer you are.  If you’re a casual simmer then maybe not, but if you like looking in the FCOM to learn how things work it won’t disappoint.   

Framerates haven’t been an issue for me.  Dynamic lights were hard on frames in the early versions, but I haven’t had an issue with last few releases.

This!  The Aerosoft Airbus feels and behaves (at least on my sim) like a fighter jet in comparison with the FSLabs Airbus. Combine the flight model with all the other goodies that FSLabs offers and it there is nothing else that can beat it.

Scary thought that one manufacturer can make an airplane all can fly. And one manufacturer has made it so difficult then even with training, some still get it wrong. Cue reports on airbus crashes.

From what I’ve heard :

Boeing pilots who fly Boeing’s prefer Boeing’s.

Airbus pilots who fly Airbus prefer Airbus. 

Boeing pilots who have flown Airbus prefer Boeing. 

Airbus pilots who have flown Boeing prefer Boeing. 

 

They say you can tell the difference between a Boeing and an Airbus. 

If in a Boeing, look down and behind 2-4000 ft and you’ll see the Airbus. 😄

I will echo what Rob said about systems and sounds, I dont think there is another add on out there that can match what FSL has accomplished (even PMDG imho). It is kinda interesting to read what people are saying about Boeing vs. Airbus pilots. I guess I must be an exception to the rule, I would happily give up my left seat on the 737 to fly the 320. Some of my friends and/or coworkers think I am crazy (particularly a friend that says that the airbus is the only aircraft that can make both a good and bad pilot look average, haha), I love the automation, the concept and systems of the Airbus. Don't get me wrong, I love the fact that I am being paid to fly the 737, but given the choice I would switch to the bus....
