May 28, 200620 yr Anyone else finding that FS2004 is feeling like FS2002 now in terms of it feeling out of date? With all the preview videos and photos for FSX I'm now finding it hard to fly in FS2004 in comparison... Dean MountfordUltimate VFR

May 29, 200620 yr Yes me too.All the media about FSX got me interested in flying FS2004 again (ive had a break for a while). The graphics look amazing especially that before / after shot of Hawaii. :-jumpyIm hoping that my payware addons will be upgraded at the time of release.Being having a lot of fun flying into Phuket (VTSP). Default FS2004 pretty bland, but hope it looks good in FSX. If not hope there is a way to easily upgrade scenery.

May 29, 200620 yr Yes me too, I am getting very spoiled with all this FSX stuff. The downside to all this openness. :)Rhett Rhett 7800X3D ♣ 96 GB G.Skill Flare ♣ Gigabyte 4090 ♣ Crucial P5 Plus 2TB
May 29, 200620 yr The version jump is almost on par from the jump from vers. 4 EGA to 5 with VGA graphics. That was a pleasant surprise!
May 29, 200620 yr I'm with all you guys I am down to about maybe 7 hours of FS 2004 a week. With all the excellent shots and videos of FSX it is just hard to get myself in a flight simulator 2004 mood.
May 29, 200620 yr To me al the screenshots and movies are just that. Screenshots and movies. Maybe if I could get some hands on experience I would get 'the itch' but until now there is nothing in the released info thats groundbreaking in my opinion. The things I like in my ever growing FS9 collection focus on great add-on aircraft (RealAir aircraft, Dreamfleet 727 and ATR 72) and detailed scenery (Aerosoft Scenery Germany, VFR France). It is very unlikley that FSX out of the box will equal these add-ons in their specific area. Sure there will be beter visuals and other improvements that we know off but until now there's nothing in my main area of interrest.I'm honestly more excited about RealAir releasing a new twin (Beechcraft Duke) than I am about plain vanila FSX (based upon what we now know). Somehow I even like Grovers FS9 movies (http://www.grover.co.nz/) beter than the FSX movies I have seen. Sure FS9 visuals are of lower quality but the aircraft in Grovers video's and their setting just does more to me. Maybe Microsoft can send Grover a FSX Beta and let him make some FSX video's.
May 29, 200620 yr FS9 is so ... 2003 ... it was released three years ago :-lol. Quote from MS Flight Team Lead: "We’ve made some guesses"

The new features/missions/visuals are what have really peaked my interest in FSX.While there are some great looking aircraft coming out, I can't get to excited about them. I have most payware, so I am not lacking for a fully functional, beautifly rendered cockpit environment, it's just the same old visuals/interactions while flying. The modern military scenery (mcdmil.zip) I recently uploaded was a great way of adding to my excitement while designing and testing as it gave me new ideals, visuals and interactions for awhile.I love grovers vids as well, can't wait to see what he can do with FSX's environment! May 29, 200620 yr Yeah, but don't tell everyone about it, otherwise next time they'll give us maybe 5 minutes notice before they release FS11, and we won't have time to salivate, and really savour the excitement of anticipation.Mike. Mike Beckwith
May 29, 200620 yr Yes, I have given up on FS2004 (in terms of upgrades and new planes). I obviously still use it, but FSX looms too closely now.RH
May 29, 200620 yr >Yes, I have given up on FS2004 (in terms of upgrades and new>planes). I obviously still use it, but FSX looms too closely>now.>>RHWhy? Most of these addons are gauranteed to be updated to compatability with FSX, right? I plan on purchasing many of the upcoming payware releases because I don't see a reason to stop getting the most out of FS9 just because of anticipation of FSX.But that's just my opinion. :) -Michael
