Not everyone could afford simulators that way. Some of us hold the default sim for a while.

It’s not a case of standards. The vast majority of those who have bought previous incarnations of FS probably wouldn’t know the difference between the model delivered and a reference one. They are not that interested.

The thing about screenshots and videos is that they tell you a lot about the look of a game (or simulator, in this case).  They don't really tell us anything about flight models though.

No and neither would you. I find nothing wrong with how existing instruments are displayed in P3D. It’s probably far easier to make those realistic than it is a flight model.

I have every confidence that FSMS XX will be just as good as I hope, and MS have indicated it will be.

Meanwhile I will happily fly my P3D v4.5 with over 600g of addons. Sure it looks a bit stale dated,

but then again, so do I.

I know I've been taking a break from all flight simming. It roughly coincides with the MS2020 announcement. I very much doubt my break is anything more than a personal cycle I experience every year or so: just need a break and do something different. That's just me.

Could my need for a break have been triggered by 'the announcement'? I doubt it, but who knows what darkness resides inside my fevered mind.

This is the issue lately on these MS forums, every one is just overreacting for just nothing and start just writing directs attacks for no particular reason.

Woops, got my srettel dna sdrow mixed up.

It's MSFS XX, not that it's as important as knowing which way to push or pull the yoke when flaring at 15 feet above the runway!

Anyway, back to practising to make perfect for my landings in "MSFS XX" when it comes out.

I don't want to embarrass those who watch the video of my first flight in an ultra modern flight sim!

I don't entirely understand the rain on the MSFS parade approach on these boards.

Someone says, "I hope..." and then boom, here come the comments that they will be wrong, be happy with what you have and don't ask for more or expect more because you will be disappointed!  Will MSFS be great? Is like asking, will marriage be great?  Sort of a lot going on with both those anticipations.  Why not let people simply be happy in their daydream while they are writing on the MSFS boards of all places.  If this was flooding the P3D conversations in the P3D boards I would get it but it's not.

And I am aware the OP did not literally say, "I hope" but clearly he is implying he hopes it will be better so he is sitting it out and the comment quote here he hopes he won't have the same issues he has now.
