Aerosoft A330 Released!

First, I acknowledge that Aerosoft typically delivers a solid product at a fair price point!  Having said that, I’ve become incredibly frustrated with their beta process.  Here’s how the last few releases have gone:

1.  Several users claim there is a problem

2.  Beta Testers state they have never seen the problem before and can’t duplicate the it

3.  6 month pass and several users persist there’s a problem.

4. 1 year after the initial release, Aersoft acknowledges the problem and the Beta testers start asking users for more data.  Some of the request seem odd because they involve software used by a large portion of the community.

5.  1.5 years after the problem is identified, it’s fixed.

This was the cycle for both the A3* managed climb and CRJ X Lnav issues.  Even today I saw a poster ask for help to prevent his aircraft from going to a cold and dark state during the cruise phase of flight.  I have the same issue but know it will do no good to submit a ticket.  I’m sure it will be fixed eventually, but not after the cycle identified above.

Again, I would recommend Aerosoft products to anyone; however, you should be prepared for the above cycle.

You also forgot that dave said only 13 people had issues with the crj. Remember that...

Even PMDG and FSL believe they have a final release.  In a couple weeks theres an update because there is issues and bugs found that are fixed.

The level of completeness and bugs severity are incomparable,

PMDG never releases half ready product, and their bugs are so tiny, that most of users do not even notice them.

I am a huge fan of FSL and I am still going to buy the A330. However I will wait for some first impressions. There is no question that it won't have the realism, system depth and authenticity of the FSL product, however I believe it will enable me to simulate normal operations of the A330, something not possible before in the sim, which is what I do 99% of the times. Of course part of the realism even in normal operations is the knowledge that things can fail and that you will get a realistic behaviour in all respects. For the same reason I fly the QW787 while its not like a PMDG boeing. I'm not sure though how they compare until the A330 is released. Lets not be negative and wait for some honest reviews.

The price 0f 70.54 euro is just the @ 58 euros with the VAT already included. They did say it would be around 58 euro excluding vat.

We anticipated a TON of shop purchases, and we still got absolutely overwhelmed.  We're on it.

I see 70.54 including 20% VAT which is what VAT is in the UK.

It looks like you get an additional discount if you already own the A320 series...assuming I am reading this correctly.
