High quality secondary US airports

Featured Replies

Hi Everyone

I am looking for recommendation for quality secondary airports in the USA to fly GA and smaller commercial aircraft out of.

I have a number already from Orbx mainly in the west of the continent plus quite a few well known payware US primary airports but want to fly more GA style aircraft recently like the Milviz KA350i, my Alabeo C421 and Virtex DA62 etc.  Happy to fly TFDi B717 and up to B738 if realistic as well.

Any good ones out there that may have slipped my attention since in the past i was mainly flying tubes to major hubs?

SX Airport Design did some...KAMA, KBHM, KBNA come to mind.  They're somewhat overpriced for what you get, though.

LatinVFR did a decent Key West.  Jetstream's KLIT is OK.  Aerosoft's KASE is also OK.

The freeware Orbx North America airports for FTX Global are, as a group, better-than average.  There's a ton of those at this point.

Orbx made scenery for Bellingham? I did not know that.

KTNP Twentynine Palms in Southern California by the company of the same name which also designed Greek and German airports. Very well done with  250 km2 of ground imagery. Country & Western 🤠...

How does KSJC hold up in P3Dv4?

I forgot about RNO in my last post, great mid sized airport.

Apple thinks KSKC is a word instead of KSJC, go figure
