April 13, 20206 yr Well, seems like the writing is on the wall. Today, I have no idea what happened, but my V4 autogen just disappeared, after I had waited for 25 minutes for the scenario to load (stuck for 25 mins on the autogen load (70%-80%). I wanted to do one last flight in V4, but honestly can't be arsed to troubleshoot this issue at this late stage. Perhaps a reinstall of Scenery or Content would have done the trick but, nah. So it's the uninstall button for me I'm afraid. V4 was brilliant, but I'm sure V5 will ultimately way surpass it in many ways - even if there is a bit of a wait to get everything V5 ready Edited April 13, 20206 yr by ErichB
April 13, 20206 yr One of the reasons why I haven't simmed in such a long time was because of a similar problem in P3D4. I just got tired and fed up with having to deal and troubleshoot constant issues that I couldn't even enjoy any of my flights. Which finally led me to take a long hiatus from this hobby. I may go the same route and start all over with v5 again. It'll hold me over until MSFS 2020 for sure. That will be the next gen flight sim of choice for me. April 13, 20206 yr Maybe we need to stop making our sims so FAT. They could develop heart disease or diabetes. 😀 MSFS

I also spent countless hours trying to troubleshoot but no luck. So I uninstalled and reinstalled P3DV4, and I make backup copies of my Lockheed Martin folder in programdata folder after every good scenery installation. At the first sign of trouble I delete the folder and restore from a backup. That method has saved me twice now.

I use three reliable cfg entry changes which do add value. I think my issue was caused by me deleting old P3Dv4.4 folders and I think something it that folder was linked to my current installation. It's after my hard drive 'spring clean' that my issues started. So, I cant really even blame P3D. I think the issue was self-induced

This simple solution has worked for me dozens of times. As @DJJose also states above, this usually is our fault for making our setups too fat with so many addons and stuff. Keeping things simple will help to avoid these strange, but common issues.
