I disagree. I'm running at 1440p, 2048 textures, sliders at the middle and it's very easy to max out VRAM and get the sim to crash. Just load up a third party airport that uses PBR and turn on TruSKY and that's all it takes. People need to have their expectations framed correctly... you can use a 8GB card, but if you intend to run the sim with e.g. the NGXu and the latest add-on airports, you will need to turn down settings and turn off TruSKY.

Nope. They also happen to guys like me who "only" have 6Gig to work with. And I do fly only FullHD since I don't even own a 4k Monitor. Which is the reason why I went with a "smaller" GPU in the first place.

i think it`s mostly agin TE South with EGLL and high settings.  

Tried FlyTampa EGCH with the sliders maxed out, 2x SSAA and 16 Antisropic and the system uses 7.3 GB of 9.2 GB available and i have crazy 60 FPS and it looks great at 4K.

When i try this at EGLL and heading towards the city : VRAM OOM

Well we should be thankful that they have a return policy at all. With digital products you usually don't get those.

This is not completely true imo. With P3D45 I've reached easily 9-10 GB when landing with a PMDG747 at KORD (FSDT) with a "3K" monitor and very moderate P3D settings. I fear that I can't use such combinations in v5. Luckily, I have a complete backup to go back to P3Dv4.5 if necessary. We will see.

I am thankful that they have but what a drop from 60 days to 14 days.  60 days gives them chances of less email refunds - people tend to move on.  Now they will get bombarded with more emails for refunds.  More admin processing work for LM team.

Well I have a 980ti with 6gb and I don't get any CTD.

Guys it is the settings.. Drop SSAA, Antialiasing and P3D settings a notch until you don't get CTD. 

LM is working to avoid the Crashes.. Provide them with feedback and the settings when you receive the issue so they can tweak things accordingly.

nope true sky running, ahh i see disabled true sky memory droped from 5,4 to 4.3 GB

 

I take this settings and retry EGLL

How on earth would this issue not come up in Beta testing? It's a serious question and I would be interested in your opinion. Not a slam to LM dev's.

that`s a missunderstanding.  I don`t crash with 5.4 GB i was crashing in EGLL when i reached the 9.2 GB which is free regarding to the internal counter. 

As i mentioned when i tried with the same settings in FlyTampa EKCH only 5.4 used, butter smooth 60 FPS and i realy enjoed flying arround with the F35. 

Now i try the same settings without true sky @EGLL with GB South installed

 

 

Update: 

True Sky disabled and i can fly straight out from EGLL 09L directly over the city and i have a ussage of max  8.8 GB of my 9.2 GB free. Most time it chews up 8.6 GB

Having about 35 - 50 FPS unlocked. So disabling true sky helped me to squeze out the few MB that i needed to come over the issiue.
