April 16, 20206 yr I have a discrepancy of Vram usage between internal Shift Z and TechPowerup GPU Z app and the overlay display from RTSS. Just loaded a default scenario, with conservative settings. The internal display tells me 3.6GB used out of 6.7GB. (1070 card with 8gb). But GPU Z and RTSS overlay shows me my vram usage is 5.7GB. This is quite a difference. Anyone confirm this? April 16, 20206 yr I've just made a test in ORBX TE London area. Flying over London from NE to SW with a2a C172 @ 3500 ft, I observed the following: With moderate settings P3Dv5 was using 6.4-6.8 /9.2 GB GPU RAM. Higher settings gave 7.2-7.4 /9.2 when panning around (direct over London City, inside and outside camera view) it got increased to 7.8 /9.2 GB. I continued flying but the high number (7.8) remained even when over the outer London area, then during flight, I increased my settings again but now to maximum (all sliders full right) - Boom ... no CTD but GPU usage decreased instead to 6.5 at exactly the same position where it was a minute before (Settings change takes a while over dense areas). What does this mean? IMO GPU RAM does not unload fast enough, but it can bet forced to do so by changing settings. Is this a principal issue of DX12, or can it be fixed by LM? Maybe many textures got dumped when you altered the settings, that may explain the usage decrease System: i9 [email protected] - 32 GB RAM - Aorus 1080ti --- Sim/Addons: P3D v5 + ProSim737
April 16, 20206 yr Did the same as you yesterday, with the F35 and for me usage droped when i was leaving london city area. Ordred a Radeon VII with watercooling today very interested to see the differences when i have plenty of VRAM. Edited April 16, 20206 yr by 331BK C. April 16, 20206 yr I've been running Majestic Q400,REX Cloud, AIG traffic , FSDT KORDV2. That combo brings V5 FPS lower that V4.5 for me and get VRAM OOM. As it is now, V5 is unusable as I cannot figure the settings that will guaranty to be VRAM OOM free. And then, those settings will be lower that V4.5. So I get 0 benefits from V5 Vincent Rouleau AMD Ryzen 7950X3d / 64.0GB G.SKILL Neo DDR5 6000 / Gigabyte GeForce® RTX 4080 16Gig / / Samsung C49RG9 49' /ASUS PB287QQ ‑ 27" UHD / AGAMMIX 2TB / Samsung 970 PRO 1TB / PNY SSD 1TB / Windows 11 / Gigabyte B650M Elite Motherboard
