April 26, 20206 yr Total opposite for me. V4 was a stutter fest and really poor fps on even medium settings. With v5 I can put the settings up high get twice the fps and much less stuttering than before! P3D & X-Plane 11 - Videos and streaming @ V Special 1

April 26, 20206 yr Yeah... My performance got better, too. Lots better. I don't think you need a new system something does not sound right. I think you need a new GPU.My system: i5-8600K (OC'd to 4.8Ghz - same as yours minus hyper threading), 16Gb DDR4-3600 (PC4-28800), RTX 2080Ti. As you can see... I have pretty close to the same system. Back in March I went from a GTX 1060 6Gb to the 2080Ti 11Gb. I can run 8xSSAA and crank all of the options. v5 has much better performance. At least 15+ FPS in the most complex scenery areas. i9-10850K, ASUS TUF GAMING Z490-PLUS (WI-FI), 32GB G.SKILL DDR4-3603 / PC4-28800, GIGABYTE RTX5080 16GB WF OC 3 FAN running 3440x1440

I have a feeling that we need at least a 1080ti. The sad part is that a used 1080ti or Pascal were affordable. The price for used ones have gone up. I've only been checking because XP11 also needs at least 11 gigs of vRAM to avoid blurry textures with Vulkan enabled. MSFS

It is system specific, and not V5. Find out what is resident in memory in your system. Anti-Virus...will most certainly do that,...for it parses/sniffs every read-write action request on your system as well as any other program that is active in memory for checking in intervals updates such as anything written by Apple..for if you are connected to their product server...movies, music..cloud... My v5 is stutter free, but I make sure that all back-ground programs and unneeded O.S. services are made inactive. I have always done that from the days of FS9. If your flight sim (any and all sim RTM's) animation stutters,..first look outside of it...for most likely system-active is the culprit. Edited April 26, 20206 yr by Sesquashtoo
April 26, 20206 yr Am i to understand that my 1070GTX.8gb will not reliably run v5? Theres no cash for a new GPU so where does that leave myself and others???

Running GTX 1070 here with locked at 30 FPS and very very smooth v5, My vRAM runs anywhere from 3.9 to 4.9, no issues noted. What processor are you using ? Quote

April 26, 20206 yr I’m was running on a 2060 (6GB) locked at 30FPS 1080p and it’s smooth as butter in some places. I got better performance than I did in 4.5. Edited April 26, 20206 yr by Tuskin38

What processor are you using ? Very similar experience here with my 1070, my cpu is i7 7700k @ 4.8ghz. I run in 2k. The only time I’ve run out of vram was at flytampa cyyz in the feelthere e-jet v3. All sliders were to the right though and I think the airport/aircraft/big city combo was just too much. Before it crashed though it was a very smooth 25fps or so. It will be interesting to see how 8gb cards fare once we get more complex airliners into v5, but also to see what Lockheed Martin can do to mitigate the vram consumption issues in the hot fix.
