If you change the wind settings in P3D, don't the winds return everytime you enter a new weather area? I'm looking for a way to disable all high altitude winds without having to do it manually everytime I enter a new weather area, and use FSXWX and FSrealWX.

I'm not using a weather program at the moment. I am waiting for Hi Fi and REX to come out with their new versions. I just put in generic weather for the moment as I fly around and explore. May 6, 20206 yr A wind bug. Some things never change. For those who remember FSX when it first came out it was almost unflyable because of a wind bug. If it hadn't been for Pete Dawson's fix, I would have quit flying FSX. For all you folks that complain about FSUIPC, remember that Pete Dawson was the one who came up with a work around that make FSX flyable. I haven't forgotten and any time there is an update for FSUIPC I gladly pay for the update. Edited May 6, 20206 yr by BlueStar I Earned My Spurs in Vietnam

So I guess there's no fix except to fly in non real world weather. FSUIPC is worth the money for autosave though. Edited May 6, 20206 yr by NightOfDreams
May 6, 20206 yr From what it sounded like from a beta tester. https://forums.hifisimtech.com/threads/news-p3d-v5.11833/page-4#post-53125 Seems they arent having wind issues with REX or Active Sky. I am not sure if Active Sky has fixed the issue but sounds like it. 9800x3d | 64GB DDR5 6000 Ram |MSI Gaming Trio OC 5090 @ 3.0GHZ | X870e Mag Tomahawk | 2x 2TB M.2 | Lian LI Dynamic XL ROG Case | Hotas Warthog Joystick and Throttle, Crosswind Rudder Pedals | Corsair Nightblade | K95 RGB| | LG 28" 4k, Dell 34" AW3420DW Ultrawide| Windows 10 Pro | MSFS2024 | Custom Water Loop |

They will only have found their own way around so the bug doesn't occur when using Active Sky, but I don't think that eliminates the P3D bug in general. Edit: He doesn't actually say he doesn't have wind shifts with AS. What he said is that he's using REX and AS as weather engines but can't comment on AS because the update for v5 isn't released yet. He specifically makes clear that his comments are only referring to using REX for weather. Edited May 6, 20206 yr by threegreen

May 7, 20206 yr So happy its a free upgrade if you become an early adopter! Thx HiFi, now all I need is some compatible aircraft and I can finally try out the new sim. Better hurry though! I might get an alpha invite first 😮 Edited May 7, 20206 yr by suncoastflyer P3Dv4 + XP11 MFS
May 7, 20206 yr Great to have a free upgrade to the Beta... then official release for APS4 customers. The fear of a full payware product was still actived in my mind because of the work needed to support v5 TrueSky ("EA-Mode" terminology by HifiSim). The announcement enlighted the limited feature available of TrueSky and the Beta that Lockheed Martin releases (no API nor SDK). Let's wait one more 24 hours 😉 Vincent B.
