May 3, 20206 yr THANK YOU for this thread! My sim, since starting...has been at 29.9/30 FPS with not one drop in FPS!!!!!! H.T. now enabled! WOW! What ever is in DX12...it sure is LOVING H.T.!

Did not see any fps increase with HT enabled. Marcus Regards, Marcus P.

Did not see any fps increase with HT enabled. Marcus Never have used VR, and with H.T. on...I have picked up at least 18 percent better FPS/all-round sim performance. It's never coming off... My person observances to date: 1. P3D v5.24 is the most feature rich and stable version of the P3D franchise to date. TrueSky has upped atmospheric immersion 100 percent over v4.5 2. On my older i7-975 CPU (4 core) O.C. of 4.73 Ghz turning on a virtual 4 plus cores has given me superb animation, clean advancement along flight path, over Extremely Dense sliders on all of them. Shadows at Ultra on 1, High on the 2nd, Water at Ultra, 4 sub boxes All other general sliders at max except for MESH set to Orbx 5m. Just a super premium P3D experience. Post Edit: FSXRW 1.6.1 just injected quite some turbulence at 3,500 A.S.L, and no CTD. I wonder if weather injection, regarding wind(s) has been fixed?!? Edited May 3, 20206 yr by Sesquashtoo

I had good FPS out of the RTM and v5.24 with it off..but the FPS fluctuated between 21-my locked 30. Since my first flight with H.T. on...and 4 real and 4 virtual cores,...the FPS has stayed now, in two hours of flying at around 3,500..at 28/29.9 out of a locked 30. Very impressed...so H.T. will now stay permanently engaged in the BIOS. Edited May 3, 20206 yr by Sesquashtoo

If you are using a quad core CPU, with HT enabled (I have a 4770K), try adding this to your prepar3d.cfg file: [JOBSCHEDULER] AffinityMask=253 // 253=11 11 11 01 The third line is just a comment that shows that all cores are enabled, except for the second logical processor. May 4, 20206 yr The issue I noticed in V5 with and without the HF with HT on was choppy FPS. HT off, no choppy frames. I also have my CPU OC'd so I wondering if the OC and HT on aren't mixing.

May 4, 20206 yr Not really surprising. In almost all other games, the introduction of DX12 resultet in best results if the CPU was rather weak in comparison to the GPU. As we now can see with v5, it seems that those guys still using an "older" 4 core CPU see a really big improvement (with or without HT). My 8700K seems to be exactly in the middle in combination with my 1080Ti, the improvement is certainly there, but not phenomenal. For those using a really "new" CPU, such as a 9700K/9900K or a Ryzen 3000 series build, with a novel RTX GPU, the improvement seems to be bigger again, maybe due to the RTX GPU? Who knows. Fact is: DX12 reduces the "CPU overhead" in CPU intensive situations, something that is almost always the case when using P3D.
