May 17, 20206 yr leonardo released 2K VC files also - that should help with 8gb cards. For now on my end I am running full 4K with 4096 textures and Truesky off. That does seem to save lots of vram. May 17, 20206 yr Author I feel that if I now upgrade to a 2070 with 8 gb vram I might be running out of memory soon again. Who knows when the 3070 or 3080 will be released. Which one do you guys recommend for a decent price (around $800) and min 10gb vram? May 17, 20206 yr Look for a used 1080ti would be my suggestion. System: i9 [email protected] - 32 GB RAM - Aorus 1080ti --- Sim/Addons: P3D v5 + ProSim737
May 17, 20206 yr Author Joe, soumds like a good idea, 11gb should last a while. Thanks a lot! Bernd Bernd Jablonka I9 - 10900K, RTX 2080 ti, 2x 1tb SSD M2 NVMe, 3 tb SATA 3, 32gb DDR4, Asus Prime Z490-P Mainboard, Honeycomb Alpha Yoke and Bravo Throttle

May 17, 20206 yr Author Mike, you are exactly correct. This is what I got from Leonardo regarding the DXGI error. Hi, this is a known issue of P3D V5, it uses much more VRAM memory then the previous version. You need at least a video card with 8Gb but still can have issues if your slider are all to the right. The only solution is to lower your graphic settings in P3D, and switch off enhanced atmosphere. Kind regards, Best Bernd Bernd Jablonka I9 - 10900K, RTX 2080 ti, 2x 1tb SSD M2 NVMe, 3 tb SATA 3, 32gb DDR4, Asus Prime Z490-P Mainboard, Honeycomb Alpha Yoke and Bravo Throttle

May 17, 20206 yr Guys install MaddogX the way it is with 4K textures and all. Then all you do is set P3Dv5 to 1024 textures , clean shaders and run the sim. Now you will get all fancy VC with pretty much everything. I will post some sceneries and settings based from my part 2 setting thread I am able to do this - Fly Tampa KLAS on top of Orbx Socal and on top of Global 2020 NG mesh. I asked you nicely to post some information that I, and I assume most others, might have missed, because I can't find any official announcement of next GeForce line specifications or release date. Everything out there is currently just rumors and telling someone to make decisions based on rumors and speculations is just stupid. One might end up making a very bad decision based on such nonsense.

He’s quite correctly pointing out that the next gen of cards is likely coming in the next few months, and that there is a lot of data (including from Nvidia) that the new architecture will be a much bigger jump forward in performance then the 20xx series was to the 10xx series. In other words: he’s giving out some good advise that could save you money. Formally screen name was Alex_YSSY until the forum software ate my account ^_^
May 17, 20206 yr I just got the maddog today and was learning how to run it up from a cold start. What I noticed is that the VRAM kept creeping up even while sitting at the gate and eventually crashed. I am using a 2080ti and it started at about 5.1 GB and when it crashed it was at 8.2GB. I would guess there is a leak of some sort because I wasn't moving at all. Spent about an hour at the gate before the crash
