10PM but in what time zone?

I would assume that since this is the Windows Store app and not the website, that it's going off of my PC's region settings, which is US Mountain Time.

This is correct. I changed my PC's time zone to US Eastern Time +2 hours from my area, and the release time changed to August 18th, 12:00AM.

I daresay seeing that 27 hour download time progress bar will put a stop to that. 🤣

I don't think the MS Azure servers will even blink! I get 34 mbps downloading the beta.

Lol.  It looks like you got punished for changing the time.

Almost there guys and gals.

AVSIM will need multiplayer discord channel so all can fly up in huge aerial squadron for all sorts of airplanes

It's just a calculation algorithm. Once I changed my PC's time zone back to US Mountain Time, it reflects August 17th, 10:00PM again.

If I access the Australian store it shows Monday, 4pm for my time zone.

Converting this would result in a 1400z release on Monday (i.e. 12:00 am Tuesday in Australia)

Wow. That's 8 hours before Italy (Italian store says Tuesday 00:00 local that should be Monday 2200z)

Steam. Top download tip for Steam users incidentally...

Fire up Steam, go to 'Store' and on the dropdown menu, choose 'Stats'. When that page opens select 'Steam Download Stats' from under the 'Steam Stats' header on the bottom right of the page. That gives you an Interactive map where you can find the fastest servers and then switch to them to speed up your download (do that on your download server selection settings). You can also view that interactive server map at this link below:

thank you

I truly am hoping its 12 AM local time to each time zone. That way 30-40K people arent trying to download 150GB worth of game at once on midnight Tuesday local time!

Yeah i think it will be different for each time zone. Aug 18 at 12:00am for my time zone is not going to be the same for someone else in another time zone.
