My MS Cart shows 08/18/20 at my local time (12:00 AM ET), so is ok to assume that Japan, SEA and Russia will get their on the simulator first?

Just curious.

I daresay seeing that 27 hour download time progress bar will put a stop to that. 🤣

It would be nice if they did do a pre-download. Who has better servers, Steam or Microsoft? 🤣

Steam. Top download tip for Steam users incidentally...

Fire up Steam, go to 'Store' and on the dropdown menu, choose 'Stats'. When that page opens select 'Steam Download Stats' from under the 'Steam Stats' header on the bottom right of the page. That gives you an Interactive map where you can find the fastest servers and then switch to them to speed up your download (do that on your download server selection settings). You can also view that interactive server map at this link below:

The download coming from the retailer is supposed to be a few hundred megabytes.  The big download occurs the first time it's run and will come off the same Azure cloud servers regardless of where you buy it.

So in my store it says available at 23.00 on 17th. Does that mean the release is staggered so everyone gets it at 23 local time monday?

I'm uk based, and the Microsoft store is saying Tuesday at 00:00 (so the start of the day Tuesday).  Maybe 23:00 is zulu time since we are currently on summer time?  Either way I'll be seeing midnight to get the download started for real.  Maybe then by the time the day job is finished on Tuesday we'll be done, maybe.  It will be a tough work day waiting, as will Monday I reckon.

I also remember seeing August 17th somewhere, but would be nice if we can get some confirmation on the exact time zone and date that it will be released.
