August 31, 20205 yr The whole it gets blurry in real life doesn't hold water. The edges are still very much clear but one can't see any small details. I've tried to figure this out when flying in the real world and nope, everything is clear.....just no small details like colors. I find the blurriness somewhat realistic as in real life you do not have unlimited ultra sharp vision for many miles toward the horizon. Even from my window, in my high-rise condo, in perfectly clear weather, I can only see out to about 10 NM before the distant objects and terrain get blurry and hazy... This isn't that kind of issue I can see the pixels from the low res texture being upsized to fit the mesh just moving the POV to look out the left window. It's terrible. *edit* I found a screenshot as example - it looks so terrible. Edited August 31, 20205 yr by joeym4130

But low res tiles can also mean that it takes too long to DL them and MSFS is loading lower res tiles instead... Try the same route at another time of day ( in reality not in MSFS ) to see if that makes any difference.... 5950x3d 5.4-5.7 GHz - Asus ROG 870 Crosshair Apex - GSkill Neo 2x 24 Gb 6000 mhz / cas 26 - MSI RTX 5090 Gaming Trio OC - 1x SSD M2 6000 2TB - 1x SSD M2 2800/1800 1Tb - Corsair 5400 case - Corsair 360 liquid cooling set - 3x 75’ TCL tv. 13600 6 cores @ 5.1 GHz / 8 cores @ 4.0 GHz (hypterthreading on) - Asus ROG Strix Gaming D - GSkill Trident 4x Gb 3200 MHz cas 15 - Asus TUF RTX 4080 16 Gb - 1x SSD M2 2800/1800 2TB - 2x Sata 600 SSD 500 Mb - Corsair D4000 Airflow case - NXT Krajen Z63 AIO liquide cooling - FOV : 200 degrees My flightsim vids : https://www.youtube.com/user/fswidesim/videos?shelf_id=0&sort=dd&view=0
August 31, 20205 yr AVSIM is going to seriously need to start requiring details of not only hardware, but graphics settings in posts like these.. Without specifics there is a lot of conjecture to take place which isn't helping anyone. Because there is such a contrast between what some are getting, Vs the major complaint of this thread and some others. Also, we need exact locations. Let's take for example this shot. I could easily have left out the left portion of this shot and only showed the imagery on the right and screamed "OMG TOTALLY BLURRY @#$@#$@# MS! Or vice versa "OP IS WRONG #$%#$%".. It's a lose lose situation without details FL380 Here is another perfect example how the quality of the imagery is going to affect quality at high altitude. I could have easily chosen the quality I wanted to highlight and agree or disagree with this topic.. Instead I choose to show the clear contrast in what the quality of the imagery can do to your gaming experience. (For those who can't see, there is a clear line running at an angle across where the imagery is completely different quality from the other side) FL380 Edited August 31, 20205 yr by styckx ASUS ROG STRIX Z390-E GAMING / i9-9900k @ 4.7 all cores w/ NOCTUA NH-D15S / 2080ti / 32GB G.Skill 3200 RIPJAWS / 1TB Evo SSD / 500GB Evo SSD / 2x 3TB HDD / CORSAIR CRYSTAL 570X / IPSG 850W 80+ PLATINUM / Dual 4k Monitors

August 31, 20205 yr Commercial Member At high altitude, the video card memory is free. Better textures could be used. The answer is up to the developer. In jurisprudence, there is a principle - you look for the person who benefits.

The AI does a great job of doing the filling in of a plausible city in the meantime. Oh thats great news. I dont have the game yet and Im not a fan of photo scenery. Its nice to know that it can be disabled.

I prefer the openstreet map autogen you get after you turn off photogrammetry. Strange thing is that there are photogrammetry objects even outside the normal city zones. Usually a few landmarks. I didn’t see a rise in frame rate after ditching photogrammetry. I know that if you turn it off the sim needs a restart before it wipes the objects but even after restarting the frame rate does not improve. (Noticed the same thing with ortho scenery.)
