Feels like I’m playing the Google Earth flight sim

It seems to me that Rayleigh scattering is fully present in the screenshots, which is as it should be; anything far away starts to take on a blueish tinge. Especially with a bit of haze it seems.

Could be a color setting. I would never say anything is perfect, but MSFS' scattering and coloring is far superior to any other sim as far as what real life looks like.

Maybe your eyes are just used to the more washed out, dull look of P3D? Or the incredibly sharp, dark look of XP11?

Those are nice screenshots in the replies to the OPs comments. Id be very interested to see those same locations from close range like maybe 100 feet at 60kts . If you guys could post a couple like that it would be great 😀

Curious to see this photo scenery from up close.

Maybe in the US. But definately not in other parts of the world.

FWIW! Does no harm to calibrate your TV or monitor, TVs are always way cranked out of the box.

Fire up a calibration image on google images, or better yet if you have a TV - google the model with 'calibration settings' and see if some bright spark on one of the home cinema forums has some dialled in settings for it.

It's one of those things were a few subtle changes can add up to a great looking image - and you can bet the folks doing the color correction on the satellite imagery will be working with industry standard calibration.

Simply put it, nothing can make everyone happy

There will always be someone complaining about something and disagreeing with it, and that is perfectly normal.

The MS/Asobo team have done alot, about 4 years of development, to have allowed us to continue enjoying our hobby and fulfilling our dream in flying, which to those of us, for any reasons, who are not able to, in a grand product in as much true to life format as possible.

We should be thankful, and not to talk down on the product, as it is still in its infancy and by saying it is "cheap" I feel its a slap in the face to the development team.

Don't compared this with google map flying, yes bing and google map, are similar products, but visually, in terms of buildings, google map is a bit more superior.

Maybe the OP should just fly in the google map after all.

And I highly doubt any other Sim has Otto as your co-pilot , as an option

Uh huh, XP11 is like a Commodore 64. BTW  is this still day 14?

No, don't! I very often wish I still had mine. I do however still have my first PC! A Packard-Bell 8088 machine from the late 80's... Bought it at Sam's Club in Wichita, Kansas.

I don't dare plug it in...

It's still where I go to fly tubeliners. I just tried an ATC flight in MSFS with the Neo. Autopilot was a bit weird but got me to a 15 mile final. (Don't even ask me about the ATC) Clicked off the AP and AT and hand flew the landing . Got down to about decision height and the AT turned itself back on and ruined the landing. Got a little miffed and buried the plane into the terminal.

My condolences to the families...

’m not talking mesh, obviously that is amazing. Texture is obviously also, great. But I was sitting on the ground in Salzburg today and thought “it’s got that blue satellite photo look” and occasionally I get that photoreal cheapness feeling

It's blue because it's SUPPOSE to be blue. Blue planet.

Do not oversell FS2020. If you were playing something based on Google maps, you would be looking at top notch ground textures and lots of photogrammetry all over the world. Not this ugly low res bing maps stuff that is used for FS2020

Almost 18k , 18 thousand people online right , flying. Might be it's just going to sell itself.
