I have ms version.  Maybe someone with steam version has it working and has some ideas to help you?

Got it figured out. My community folder was in a completely different directory. I had to enable developer mode to figure it out.

Great job on this thing. It stalls with a typical wing drop I remember.

Great to hear you got it working.

Something which I have noticed with C152 [both], C172 and C208 if you apply a little power and the aircraft starts rolling and then bring back power to idle, the aircraft continues rolling and never stops - have to apply brakes. Surely it should stop after a while ?

On a real aeroplane this depends on a few things, such as the surface it is on, headwinds, payload etc, but it's not inconceivable that it could keep on rolling if the payload isn't high and especially if it is on a slight downhill gradient.

Once you've overcome the inertia that was keeping it stopped, quite a lot of aeroplanes will keep on going (not normally on grass and especially long wet grass, but certainly on good smooth concrete). Even when the throttle is at idle on a 152, it's still doing about 650 rpm, so the prop is generating thrust; this is sort of similar to when you push a car to try to bump start it; at first it is difficult to get it going, but once you have done so and it is moving, it's pretty easy to keep it going with not very much force at all.

Even an A320 airliner full of passengers taxying on just one engine with the thrust lever at idle will tend to keep on rolling if it's on a decent level surface, so you probably will need the brakes to stop the thing.

Thank you for the modifications. Much appreciated, downloaded and tested. 👌 Flies beautifully !!

Could someone please check ?.

Thanks

From my experience in the 172, this is spot on. You really only need a touch of power to get it rolling, and then you can bring it back to idle at 1000 RPM and never touch the throttle again (in fact you’ll probably have to brake instead).

basically same for a PA28 aswell. You can taxi with minimum power if the surface is somewhat level and smooth (paved)

I agree that it takes very little to no power to keep the aircraft rolling.  However, as it stands right now for all aircraft, it takes way too much power to get them rolling from a dead stop -- it's as if they come to rest in wet tar.  I noticed a blurb about inertia in Asobo's latest list of issues and I hope this is what they're planning to fix.  I know objects at rest tend to stay at rest; but I think MSFS has taken that a little too far.

Agree with this. The DA62 in particular wants way too much power to start rolling.

Thanks for this mod DRF30q - brilliant!🙂

I still can't get it to show up in-sim. Using Steam, with the install in E:\MSFS. All the liveries show up. Any ideas? Thanks.

You sued the developer mode to see where the right folder is?

That was what I had to do to see what folder msfs was actually calling from.

Once I put in the correct folder. It worked...

How do you know these community mods will keep working when the official updates from Asobo are released? Maybe they are updating these things at some point anyway

Stuff in the Community folder replace their counterparts in the sim's default a/c folder.

Where did you get that info in developer mode?

Go to the windows tab and you'll see an option for virtual file system. Click that. Then you'll see a section that says watched bases....you'll see the complete directory.

If it's not in the windows tab, it's in one of them. Just hover your mouse over each tab.

Found the issue! The liveries megapack was causing a conflict. When I removed the C152 folder this mod now works. So, for anyone using the repaints, it could be an issue.

Thanks Matt for your help troubleshooting.

I think this type of issue is going to occur frequently now as different mods in the Community folder are sometimes not going to play nicely together.  If it is desired to utilise multiple mods simultaneously, some manual editing likely required.  Problem then is that any update to the mod(s) will likely break everything again.
