September 6, 20205 yr Running a SAMSUNG MONITOR 78” at 4k Can someone please confirm that HT - Hyperthreading actually boosts your performance? Has anyone been successful? Because I’ve actually gained smoothness with this enabled YESSSSSS My rig is: i74770k OC 4.2, Asus Z87-A MOB, GTX1080ti Vernon Howells

I upgraded from a 2700k to an 8700k 3 years ago. I was thinking about my old PC this morning and wondering how it would handle the new sim. FAA: ATP-ME, 737 CA, enough time in the 757/767 to be dangerous 🤠 Matt Kubanda, 7950X3D, 64GB RAM, RTX 5090@4k, MSFS 2024

P3D v4.5 works great! MSFS is much better now with HT enabled. As long as I stick with small GA and mid to high settings it's playable, but I need a new CPU ASAP. Even accessing the MSFS menus is sluggish. MSFS

Sounds like is scales reasonably well for how old it is. It's crazy how long these things hold on! September 6, 20205 yr I'm running it as well on a 2600K with only a 3GB GTX1060 and 16 meg at 1080p. I am surprised how well it runs at medium settings. Waiting to pull a trigger on a new system once the 3000 series appears and hopefully AMD announces the Ryzen Zen 3 series -really wanting to see whether it is worth it to go AMD or pursue an i9-10850 or 10900K. September 6, 20205 yr Also running on a 10 year old i7-2600k @ 3.5gig with 16gb RAM and a 1660 gpu. It runs very well indeed on Medium but a bit edgy on High. Surprisingly good performance with 30-40fps most of the time in GAs on Medium.. Obviously it'll never keep up once we get PMDGs and detailed airports but I'm happily chugging around on Vatsim for the moment and going through the MSFS learning curve before speccing a new beast for the future. I experience a slight pause before the transition. The other one is also sluggish is when you go from cockpit cam to external. The external gauges take a sec to pop up. In the YT videos I've watched the gauges seem to appear a bit faster. I'm on SSDs. Just wondering if M2 drivers perform better? Update: Just to a look at CPU benchmarks and the i7 2600K had a score of 1731. The new 10900K has a score of 3182. Edited September 6, 20205 yr by DJJose MSFS

September 6, 20205 yr I just switched over to hyperthreading, after having it turned off on my 5GHz overclocked 8086 for several years. Decided to change to 4.9GHz to limit heat. Got to say: HT certainly has its advantages. It especially shines in CPU-demanding situations. I could see the benefits sitting at a gate at EDDF in the A320 with multiplayer on. 7950X3D | RTX 4090 | 64GB DDR5

Intel named the series Extreme for a reason! 🙂 It's killing MSFS on Ultra. MSFS is basically written for a 4 core (DX11). Edited September 6, 20205 yr by Sesquashtoo
