Ok so you buy a £140 aircraft from PMDG.  It needs fixing, who would you expect to fix it with an official patch?  PMDG or Random Joe?

PMDG 🤦‍♂️

I made a short night flight with the Mooney from KHOU to KJAN.  Heck, I like to never got the Landing and Taxi turned off fumbling around in the dark.  Surely there is a dome light someplace to add enough light to see the O/H switches.  I firewalled the throttle and Prop and tweaked it for full power. At 9,500 feet/60% Lean and came up with 183 TAS using the LNM tas readout.  That is very close to book.  I had to use the "fix" 3 times to coax it to fly straight.  The Ground Traffic to Zero seems to have fixed the Avionics blackout, weird. \

May i throw in a quick question: How is Carenados patch philosopy? Are they updating and patching their products on a regular basis? I am really interested in the Mooney but the AP issues keep me a bit from buying it right now.

Best

I think it is too early to tell and I'm almost positive that Asobo in directly in the loop.  Meaning, Carenado forwards an update to Asobo, Asobo massages it and uploads it when they are ready.

I hope you are right, since I have more faith in Asobo than in Carenado to fix this..

Why.. I do not know..😉

Such a mistake to encrypt the files.. EPIC FAIL Asobo 🤦‍♂️

So wait for Carenado, if they even bother to fix anything, then wait for Asobo. 🤦‍♂️

I bet still waiting this time next month... 🤷‍♂️

Carenado's product is not "fit for purpose".  👎

Personally, I think you are too critical of Carenado this early on. It has only been two days.  I fully expect Carenado to follow up with the shortcomings and to assist Asobo is getting it totally fixed.

I also wonder how many dependencies Carenado has on Asobo under this new sim and it's methods of distribution and installation.  For example the GNS and perhaps even the AP.  They are of course interrelated.  Not trying to grant Carenado a free pass here.  Just sayin!  Those elements are unknowns at this point to us.

I have been flying the M20 these days, and despite the sensitivity issues (FS bug) and electrical failure (in1 flight out of 5, FS Bug), I think this aircraft performs much better than the default ones (considering that all of them have similar bugs because of FS)

I am enjoying my flights with the Mooney, and I think Carenado made a pretty nice job with this one, I dont like to buy products from them specially if the aircraft has advanced avionics because it is clear that they are not good at it, but I don't think we have to be harsh with them in this one... its my opinion.

Ps: @raymar I don't know either how to turn on o/h lights

I had to use the head torch feature (Alt-L) to find them in the little overhead last night.  They don't seem to self illuminate.

Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind).

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

Intel 14900K in a Z790 motherboard with water cooling, RTX 4080, 32 GB 6000 CL30 DDR5 RAM, W11 and MSFS on Samsung 980 Pro NVME SSD's.  Core Isolation Off, Game Mode Off.

Behind IPAD there's a button for lights. There's also a switch on the PIC's door.

Thanks!  I will try that tonight.  👍

Is sent an e-mail to Carenado regarding some of the issues and here's their response:

Greetings,

Thank you for your feedback, we are going to fix this for the next version of this aircraft to be released soon.

Regards,

Thanks DJ,

I know about the two light controls on the yokes (for cabin overhead over the seats, and background lights on GPS and a few avionics units, but these do not add any light to the forward overhead outside light switch mini console.

I can't any lights that change with the switches at the lower left of the PIC seat near the O2 gauge  (that does have an internal dimming light)

Interesting. It could be another bug. Maybe INOP

Are you having any sound issues? Sometimes I have a clipping sound when I deploy spoiler. Also, for some reason I can't hear the sounds as well as I do in the XP version. Flaps down or spoiler wind sounds that change due to additional added drag.

Just thinking out loud. 😀
